Do You Ever Film or Make Vids of Parks?

I've recently taken to filming at parks/fairs in the past couple years, and am enjoying it quite a bit. I've uploaded unite a few vids to youtube, recently uploading a montage of last ronde tht I have this post.

What about you?.. Do you film at all when at parks or fairs?

And, as promised, here's my La Ronde Montage

After 5 CF lives videos and the info for the lives videos, I ain't there still. *shrugs*

I do them any time I can.

I want to get into the habit of filming some offride shots. Haven't really had any good ones yet. And if they do turn out good, I probably would end up uploading it.

I will certianly check you out man, sounds cool.

Also, does anyone know exactly how the youtube thing on the sidebar works for CF?.. Do you upload vids to CF's channel or something?.. Sorry if it sounds dumb, but I'm new here.

My channel is; http://www.youtube.com/user/Bicko101

I mostly film at events with Pleasure Beach Experience, but like to film at parks I haven't been to before or to parks I rarely get to.

There will be a new BPB video going up sometime next week, and a few videos from Parque Warner and Port Aventura sometime in August. :)

Used to. Youll see some of me on the CF YT channel. But.. I've grown more to just enjoy the day then film. I might start taking photos however.

I have a fair number of CF-Live videos on my channel. I love making them, and I think it's a great way to try and capture a day out with friends. I'm not massively keen on just "gooning" though. Taking videos for the sake of it, but I have a few on my channel where I've wanted to capture something (like the River Caves at Southport which are gone now (I must have had a psychic moment when I took the video ;) ) or for a CF guide but we don't want to clutter the CF channel with everything. It's as and when opportunity is there though because...

There's a balance between "capturing the day" and actually enjoying it first hand  It's difficult to do both, but sometimes there's opportunity and I have the l337 skillz ;)

My channel is http://www.youtube.com/user/furiekins and I have everything neatly packaged up ;)

Basically, it's controlled by CF. If you've caught the attention of Jerry or Ian who run the CF YouTube account, then you can get added in. If you know them, you could ask them for a link through.

Very, very rarely. I did some POVs of Atlantis Adventure and French Revolution years ago, using a really crappy camera, simply because there weren't any others out there at the time.

I did an offride video of Gravity Max for the same reason. Again, it was using an old, poor quality stills camera, but it's since managed to get over half a million views due to the uniqueness of the ride and the lack of video of it at the time.

I had a go at putting together a park video of a crappy park, basically because I had time to kill and just to see how it would work really. The whole thing just left me with a distinct feeling of CBA to be honest.

I wonder if there's anyone you could message about that?
I posted a topic a couple of years ago asking any CFer with a youtube account to post the link to their channel and it would be added to the members channel list (provided they have coaster videos on their channel and do not promote other coaster fan sites). That's how the member list got started.
So yeah, don't expect Ian or myself to just add your channel to the list without a request and the link.

Here's my latest video.

I took a couple of videos of an inflatable slide at a block party earlier tonight, one ECG style and one TPR style. I'll put them up tomorrow.

Used to make montage videos of Live events many moons ago, but then went onto making documentaries and stuff like that for Ride-Guide and valley Mania. Nowadays, I rarely produce theme park videos. Have just filmed an half hour long short though which will be released shortly (nothing to do with theme parks though).

I sometimes do. I used to occasionally shoot short snippets of entertaining events unfolding, or of certain rides in between taking photos, but back in 2010 I started shooting a few CF Live videos. I've done three so far, and will hopefully film a couple more before the end of the year.

It is a difficult trade off to make. When I'm taking photos (along with the odd small video clip), it's easy just to go with the flow and take the odd snap here and there when the opportunity presents itself. Taking photos with a (fairly) compact camera doesn't detract from my day in any way. When I'm doing an event video, far more effort is required.

I need to be alert so that I can capture entertaining stuff when it happens. I need to think ahead, and decide what clips I'm going to need ahead of time. I'm often standing around for a while during the day waiting for things to happen so that I can get a particular shot. I usually end up wandering around the park on my own for a while (often during the lunch break) trying to get some decent off-ride footage to use in the video. It's a bit of a pain in the ass, and only worth it under very specific circumstances.

I'll only make videos if I'm with a group. Half the fun of shooting a Live video is capturing antics. Sure, I always put ride footage in my videos, but I don't make that the focus. CF Lives are all about people having fun on and off the rides, rather than about the rides themselves.

Secondly, I'm pretty much the exact opposite of Scott in this regard:

So far I've only filmed CF Lives at the parks I visit regularly, have done to the death and know like the back of my hand. I generally find I can't do both photos and videos at the same time, so I have to pick one or the other.

When I've been to a park many times, I've already got all the signature pictures, so I'm not bothered about passing up the photo opportunities, and I'm not too bothered about passing up riding something silly in order to get some good video of people gooning it up. If it's my first visit to a park, I generally want to get the most out of it, and I can't really do that if I'm filming.

I do love it when a good video comes together though. On the occasions when I do make the effort, I always feel like it was worth it.

I used to.

Then I realized that I was starting to pay less attention to the parks themselves than trying to find good angles for shots, which is a lot less fun than going to an amusement park for the park itself.

So I stopped, cold turkey and no remorse.
