In a bit of cool cross-promotional synergy, Disney will paint its Disney World monorails with light cycles from its upcoming Tron Legacy movie, and you can check them out below.

Click on the images for larger versions of the repainted monorails, which feature snazzy versions of the new generation light cycles from the upcoming 3-D sequel to the classic 1982 sci-fi movie. (And check out the new trailer, which shows the light cycles in action!)

Disney Parks posted this description:

The transformed trains will be visible on the Epcot monorail line as early as this month. And if you look close, you'll notice that the design of the futuristic motorcycle-like vehicles from the upcoming film Tron: Legacy also includes walls of trailing colored light.
Will we see similar trains at Disneyland in Southern California?

Tron Legacy opens Dec. 17.

Yes I agree do not like it.

Build a booster bike coaster instead and have them race and dual.

Tron <3

I think they look snazzy. A bit more advertising for the film! (not that it needs any)

^Agreed. The title was a bit misleading, as I thought they actually had transformed them to bikes you can ride on instead of in a car.

Now THAT would be a change.

They all look the same after they crash :p

Erm, I like the idea, but I don't think it's been well implemented. Snazzy colours, but it just doesn't quite work with the shape of the train.

The WDW monorails always looked good with that stream-lined look
Will they revert back to that look after this horrible one?

^I'm pretty sure they will.

I hate it. Just more evidence of Disney World becoming more commercial.

I'm not saying it wasn't commercial in the first place, I'm saying it's becoming more commercial. I don't think they would have done this is recent years, when they kept 'Mickey Mouse out of the Magic Kingdom' for example. Well, maybe not recent years.

I hate it.

I don't like it, not because of commercialism and all that, although that is pretty bad. But more simply because they look ugly, and the normal monorails are a delight to see, so familiar and nice, rather than these ugly things. Urgh.
