Celebrity Deaths 2009 Edition

Robert Enke is genuinely tragic news, its one of the saddest things i've heard in ages. The guy's natural daughter died a couple of years ago because of a rare heart defect and he was scared to death of public and authoratitive backlash over his fitness to look after his adopted daughter if his depression became public.

I know someone's going to come back and say 'yeah, but he was earning loadsamoney, he's an international footballer' but we all know its not that simple.

Thoughts go out to his wife & adopted daughter.

Oh no, now even less people will understand the joke "What do you call a man with three planks on his head?" :(

I always liked:

"Why has Edward Woodward got so many Ds in his name?"

"Because "E-War Woo-War" sounds really stupid."

I'm going to be honest and say that aside from the three jokes above (which I've heard before this topic!), I have no idea who Edward Woodward is or what he's done. Yes, ignorant isn't it but I wanted that extra point.

Hmm, I think I'll total up the scores so far. Wading through pages of Jacko death posts is not going to be enjoyable.

Oh ****ing hell, I've not updated the scoreboard since page 9, so that's 20-odd pages to trawl through using my Celebrity Authentication Device to decide if they are really celebs or not.

FFS, why did so many high profile people have to die this year?

It's a shame Ian, because you'd have loved the Equalizer - try and find an episode on youtube or something. Gritty southern bloke goes around exacting revenge on Americans while avoiding being too much like Michael Cane. It's televisual brilliance :)

The Wickerman is a cult classic, but only because Britt Eckland gets her norks out.

Other than that, I never really understand why he was so famous...

Not exactly a celebrity, but the world's oldest man and World War I veteran died earlier aged 113 and 42 days. Only had a month of the title, not that anyone would particularly want it though.

Exactly, not a celeb. Shame all the same be wasn't a celebrity, the title of being the last WWI veteran was.

WTF? The sister of somebody famous! No, not a celeb imo.

Gidget, the Taco Bell chihuahua, had a massive stroke and died.
Hahahahah. No.

Urgh.

Unless they are famous themselves in their own right, then the sibling/parent/spouse/etc is NOT a celeb!

Oh FFS.

Now I nearly let you have that one but no. It's an achievement yes (just like Harry Patch) but it's not really celebrity status.

Lucy Vodden, thought to be the inspiration for the Beatles song Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, is dead.

No. No. No. She is not famous, the song is.

So yeah, there we go, keep them coming...

^Nooooooooooooooo  . Probably the only celeb who has died this year I could give a **** about.

I knew she wasn't well a while back but I thought she had improved. She was so funny on Cornonation Street along with Norris. She will be sorely missed.

Yes, though I wasn't a fan of Corrie, her and Norris really did make some amusing scenes. Guaranteed, her scenes would contain her narcissistic and sarcastic moaning which just 'made' Corrie.

RIP
