Cedar Point VIP Tours

The Cedar Point VIP Tours cost $375 per person for a minimum of 2 people. It lasts for 8 hours. You skip the line and choose your seating on the ride. So, if you wanted to, you could ride every coaster in the front seat.

Cedar Point has a lot of rides, 17 coasters, atleast 20 family rides, atleast 20 thrill rides, and probably 20 kiddie rides (some of which would be fun for people of all ages) and 3 water rides.

I am going to Cedar Point for the first time the summer of 2011 and am highly considering getting the over-priced VIP Tour.

My question is: If you get the VIP Tour, then can you ride ALL 80 plus rides at Cedar Point in one day. An then, ride the better coasters and thrill rides twice or even three times for rides like TTD or MF??????

CAN YOU RIDE EVERY RIDE IN ONE DAY WITH VIP??????????

No.

I've worked there, and even with VIP (Which seems like a waste) I've never heard of anyone doing it. Plus you need to consider things like the kids areas, which you can't ride anything there just because you're too tall to fit (The rides with umbrellas are a perfect example).

When I say kiddie rides, I'm talking about the rides CP calls "kids rides" on their website not necessarily rides from Planet Snoopy or other designagted kids areas. Of their 20plus kids rides, I would only ride about 4 of them.

When considering that there is 8 hours and you are escorted literally right on the ride, I think that it could happen and it is a reasonable expectation, plus the park opens early for VIPs.

Does anyone else have any input???

Thanks Error

Yes, I have some input:

Spend $375 on something more worthwhile. Seriously, what is the point?

^That's something I forgot to add:

Everything worth doing can be done in a total of 2 days, which, even at regular ticket price, is $100. Even more so, a carefully planned trip day will make it more effective (IE, do the long line rides during meal times).

And lastly, weekdays early in the season are best.

So:
1.) You can ride every single ride w/out a VIP in 2 days?
and
2.) You can ride every single ride w/ a VIP in one day?

The difference to me is:
1.) If you wait in line, the front seat will be a huge wait. The VIP allows your choice of seat, so you can go directly on to the front seat.
2.) Along with the coaters, I also really want to ride the thrill and family rides.

Or don't. Most rides, it doesn't matter. Like Maverick is good in every seat and Mean Streak is horrible in every seat. And if you read the fine print, VIP does not guarantee any ride.

Most of the family rides you're looking at a 10- minute wait on an average day. Thrill rides are on average are maybe 30.

Again, this is coming from someone who worked there: VIPs are not worth the money.

I'm guessing you don't just get front of line access but loads of other goodies...

I did the one at Kings Island last year, and it was fab... Included the front of line access, special show seating, vip parking, hour long buffet lunch, ice-creams, photos, and a backstage of Beast...

It was very worth the money, but it's all dependant on when you go and the like, but consider what else you get with the deal and how much time you have available before settling on a decision...

^If you don't mind me asking, how much was the VIP day at Kings Island?

Gahhh... Erm... 200-300 dollers per person if I recall... Whilst that may not sound too much like value for money, we very much enjoyed ourselves considering we went on the 5th July...

It's certainly an alternative idea for people who are going on a once in a blue moon trip in a busy part of the season...

Error: At least for roller coasters, the VIP Tour guide will escort you through the exit line and you get to chose your seat before the train enters the station.

That is what I heard and I am pretty sure it is true. If not, how does it work?

Thanks for your opinions by the way

I've gone to CP for some 15 years.. and if you plan a day right.. you can ride every coaster and thrill ride with time for re-rides.

Since 2006, every single CF Live we've had at CP has given us rides on everything we wanted to ride.. EVERYTHING.. and we went from early June to early August.

What Snoo said.

I worked in Guest Services at Cedar Point for the 2009 season, which is in charge of the VIP tour system. It is only an overpriced novelty for the very rich who have no patience.

The program only last 8 hours with a 1 hour lunch break (meaning only 7 hours of possible ride time). You move at the pace of the marketing intern in charge of the tour, and most likely will not be able to ride everything in time.

If you properly pace yourself, you will ride all roller coasters and major thrill rides within one day at Cedar Point. Guaranteed. Spend the extra cash on a better hotel room, or a parasail ride.

I did the VIP tour last year. It does cost $375 and lasts nine hours, with a mandatory 1 hour break. So you get eight hours of ride time. You are escorted by an employee who takes you up the exit to the rides you want to ride. You are able to choose which seat you want. The only negative is that you cannot reride. For example, you ride the Millenium Force and then you have to go ride another ride before coming back to the Millenium. This is where planning is key. You don't want to ride Millenium and then go ride something at the opposite end of the park and then come back to Millenium. You will waste your day by walking to rides.

I can't stand waiting in line for rides so for me the VIP pass was well worth the price. It is a fair deal for Cedar Point and a fair deal for the customer. If you can't stand waiting then I do recommend the VIP tour.
