Note that it's "trip report" singular. As only three of us went, I can't imagine this topic will be flourishing with photos and anecdotes!
Nic, peep and I went to Benidorm last weekend to sample Terra Mitica. After we arrived and got into our vile Corsa hire car, we headed into Alicante to kill several hours. We minced around the shops, had some food and took a walk around the marina. It was pleasant. We managed to kill the 5 hours before our first park of the trip opened for business - Pola Park!
It's a free to enter park where you can buy a wristband or pay per ride. Phew!" As we only wanted the cred, it wasn't going to burden our wallets. After checking that the coaster was available, we queued up at the little rocket kiosk and paid our €3 each.
The staff were friendly and they're allowed to choose which colour tracksuit bottoms they want to wear.
Despite it being quite a small park, it was fairly busy. Pola Park has rides which are mainly aimed at young families.
Why does Vadge look shocked?
Maybe because of the probably unlicensed IP use...?
...or perhaps because this could be an unlisted cred?!
It turned out to be an elevated train ride. However, this is the cred.
With some probably unlicensed IP use.
It was nothing special. "Plus one and done", as the old saying goes. I don't want to call Pola Park a dump, because for what it is, it's fairly fab, but there is an actual dump next to the coaster.
After our +1, we headed back to Benidorm where we checked into the hotel, freshened up and then headed out for another +1 and some food.
It turns out we arrived at Feistaland at the right time. It was getting dark, the park lights were on and it felt quite cheerful. Like Pola Park, it's a children's park and many kids were enjoying it.
The Plus One is amazing! We called it the Jordan Coaster after nadroJ. Why? Because it's over-done up for no particular reason apart from being fab. It's real name is Draky.
I've been on many kiddy creds, most of them dull ovals with little-to-no theme so it was great to see this enclosed in a decorated shoebox. Brilliant! It cost €2.50 to ride and we had about 15 laps <3
Then we took a little trip to the seafront to find find booze and food. Again, I think we hit Benidorm at the right time. It was warm, wasn't overrun by lobster-red chavvy Brits and hen/stag dos. I can see the appeal of the place with it's seaside bars, lovely looking beach and cheesy party atmosphere, but I'd hate to visit in peak season.
We had a couple of beers, some food and ended the day with a cocktail or two. Vadge and peep wanted something fruity...
I stuck to my usual...
(Although I did have a Mojito in one bar.)
"que está al lado de la orilla" so something.
So that ended our cultural time and cred runs in Alicante and Benidorm. In the final instalment when we visited Terra Mitica...
