Behemoth/East Coast TPR Trips PTR

Ben

CF Legend
Now, let me just say before I start this, this is a PTR I did for TPR just copied and pasted, so there'll probably be a lot of crap that doesn't make too much sense on here as I go along, but, whatever, I aint writing two trip reports so, live with it.

OK, so I figured that although there’ll be about a million of these, I still wanted to do a PTR of the beyond-awesome time I had on the Behemoth/East Coast trips. Now, the amount of photos I took just sort of plummets to about two a day halfway through the trip, so a fair amount of the parks will be nothing more then like, those two photos, a few comments and not a lot else. But, the majority of those days (ie. Morey’s Piers) I was having too much fun hanging out to worry about photos, so that’s OK by me. Plus, the photos of rides aren’t really any good, so I’ll try and avoid posting a lot of them, plus, something tells me you might have seen a couple of those by now anyway! Still, this trip was about a LOT more then coasters, so a coaster-lite report is another thing that is OK by me. I also can’t promise I’ll finish it, but I have nought to do for the next few weeks, so I’ll do my best!

Now, just before I start with everything, I just want to say a BIG thank-you to everyone that made this trip SO memorable and the best two-odd weeks I’ve spent doing anything ever. So, a shout-out to y’all who I won’t name cause A. You know who you are and B. You’ll all probably turn up in photo-form anyway so I can’t be bothered to type what I’ll just show later anyway! Although there are some people who I loved hanging with but don’t have ANY photos of! Like David, how did I go all that time and still not have a photo of us!

And one last thing- Robb and Elissa, you guys freakin’ RULE! Thank-you! I was a bit worried I wouldn’t get the huge, amazing, fall-in-love addiction to the TPR trips that everyone goes on about, I thought that would probably a bit too much hype. Have I ever been so happily wrong about anything before? No. No I have not. Seriously, if there’s even a simmer of hope you could do a trip in 09, DO IT. I know I’ll be doing one at least every year until they end!

OK, so day one of the Behemoth trip was Seabreeze, a quaint little park with an AWESOME Log Flume which would strike a Log Flume-obsession which would run through the trip (Dorney’s Log Flume = absolute pwnage on a stick while Busch’s = absolute fail just as a sidenote). The woodie-which-I-can’t-remember-the-name-of was fun, but Bear Trax WAS NOT! Fail at getting on that was upsetting. Whirlwind was good fun, and the ERT on that and Bobselds was a great way to start the trip off with a bang.

Wooden Roller Coaster 1 starts off the photos with a very exciting lift hill porn shot.
100_3826.jpg

The big stick that it uses to slow itself down is very geekily arousing.
100_3831.jpg

TPR members get ready in the scary-Morgan-train
100_3833.jpg

After the woodie we found the park’s highlight show- random hot people get semi-naked and stretch
100_3834.jpg

The park’s proper coaster highlight was this awesome MS spinner
100_3835.jpg

Which I CAN remember the name of, since I have this handy photo to tell me what it is
100_3850.jpg

This would be better if the people weren’t totally random but I included it to say how awesome the first drop is backwards
100_3836.jpg

The other coaster in the park was the famous Bobselds
100_3842.jpg

A strange woodie-steel-ex-kiddie-coaster-that-got-extended hybrid, it was a fun ride, but really scary at points
100_3840.jpg

Random generic group queue shot 1
100_3838.jpg

Kimmy and Eric seemed to be enjoying something
100_3844.jpg

I can’t think of anything to say, so I’ll just let Brooke’s face to the talking
100_3845.jpg

Although the scary pathing and garish theming doesn’t look great, it’s actually a quaint little park with buckets of charm
100_3848.jpg

And the amazing Log Flume makes an appearance. It started off with a randomly fast cement trench thing, but the highlight was the freakin’ steep drop!
100_3852-Copy.jpg

See, freakin’ steep! This meant for a LOT of airtime, sending me off my seat in a way no Log Flume should be allowed to do.
100_3853.jpg

The… Screaming Eagle (?) ride was a lot of fun, especially since you get to look at the people sat opposite you and scream at each other.
100_3857.jpg

And a random group shot of us before braving the might-be-called-something-Eagley ride closes out Seabreeze
100_3859.jpg

I’ll put Darien Lake up next, so remain tuned.

Yeah Boyee!
Looks like I need to stop by Seabreeze on the way to CW.
Can't wait for the next one. I wanna see more!

Ben

Oooops, totally forgot to post the Darien Lake part, so this'll be two-updates-for-the-price-of-one...

OK, so the morning of Day Two saw, as everyone probably already guessed, Darien Lake. I thought it was a much nicer park then I’d imagined, yes it had some bad pathing issues, but the setting by the Lakes and general atmosphere was a lot better then I’d heard about. Also, Ride of Steel was great! I really, really enjoyed it almost as much as SFNE’s, and a million miles more then SFA’s garbage can version.

What else was of interest? Oh, Predator freakin’ sucked! I can’t even remember what it did other then beat me up. The Log Flume was hilarious, the sickening flats lived up to exactly how I thought they would be, and so did the SLC, which I also funnily enough, can’t actually remember other then it sucked. Y’know what, I’ll just put my thoughts down with the photos as opposed to before.

Just in case you’d forgotten where this is a report of, a gaggle of TPR members mix under the sign to remind you
100_3868.jpg

And then everyone heads off
100_3870.jpg

And have to go through this suck-fest to reach…
100_3871.jpg

The good stuff… side note, these photos make it look stormy, was it in the morning?
100_3872.jpg

I think the station’s real cute, and in no way do the colours link in anyway to Superman. At all. Coincidence.
100_3873.jpg

Everyone’s hopping at the thought of morning Intamin
100_3877.jpg

Sucks to wait in this huge line we had to… did that make ANY sense?
100_3879.jpg

Then we went to ride Predator. Again, the line in ERT was HUGE. And has anyone ever waited this for this piece of crap? If so, send me your address on a postcard and I’ll send you all the £10 I currently have to my name in sympathy
100_3879.jpg

I don’t even have to say what was next
100_3895.jpg

Where Beth waited on her own. Cause she’s no fun.
100_3892.jpg

Kim and Roxy find Beth’s loneliness hilarious
100_3893.jpg

Yeah, that don’t impress her much
100_3898.jpg

Reactions to the ride seemed to be pretty much unanimously “meh, it was fun but nothing great”
100_3899.jpg

And it has the mystical power to make Luke’s wrists limp… well, limper
100_3905.jpg

These guys seem impressed
100_3907.jpg

And here’s my version of the exact same, albeit better, photo that Natalie took. She kept stealing all my photos ideas. I should therefore have the credit for her PTR
100_3912.jpg

You guys excited?
100_3913.jpg

Well, they certainly are now
100_3914.jpg

By now it was time for Beth to take her ride. Did I mention she was still alone? Boo her.
100_3916.jpg

Um, yay?
100_3917.jpg

Apparently queues are something I take a lot of photos of. Must be a sad geek tendency I didn’t know I had
100_3918.jpg

Yep. Clearly a geek
100_3920.jpg

Roxy’s ready to be… ‘rang’d?
100_3923.jpg

Kimmy looks slightly more worried
100_3925.jpg

Although there’s now obviously a joke they all get which Luke isn’t involved in
100_3926.jpg

Yes Robb, we are all asking the same question
100_3928.jpg

Lol, no comment needed
100_3931.jpg

Again, Luke obviously doesn’t get whatever’s making the others smile. And anyone find it weird that Kimmy and Neil are doing the same thing at the same time
100_3934.jpg

That poor Universal-rip-off-statue didn’t know what was gonna to happen when it went to work that morning
100_3938.jpg

I don’t even know who this is
100_3940.jpg

Ew
100_3944.jpg

Natalie, you KNEW what you were about to ride, right? Cause you looked far too happy.
100_3946.jpg

I included this cause it’s the only photo with Brooke’s AWESOME socks in it, and they need to be shown to World
100_3947.jpg

Fascination, which apparently makes Kimmy make weird faces
100_3953.jpg

Yep, Neil hunted out the beer
100_3954.jpg

And while this thing freakin’ sucked, it was possibly the funniest flat ever. Sorry we laughed at you Brooke, but it WAS funny
100_3956.jpg

There was some really good views of Ride of Steel from lunch, especially of this suck-fest of a trim
100_3976.jpg

The first drop was certainly one of the highlights of the ride for me
100_3979.jpg

But this was my real favourite part
100_3981.jpg

The penultimate ride we did (just before the infamous final Ride of Steel ride) was the Log Flume, which again, continued my love for them. But, from this photo you can’t tell it’s a Log Flume, just it’s a group. Queuing. For something. But it was the Log Flume, trust me.
100_4043.jpg

Which we all decided was built on top of a sewer, but did provide a fun ride
100_4044.jpg

Somewhere Roxy has a very similar photo, just of me instead of her
100_4045.jpg

She was showing me her beer thing, but all that it looks like is a blur
100_4049.jpg

Erik, did this ride get you wet? Yes, yes indeed it did.
100_4062.jpg

And then was the infamous Ride of Steel run, which funnily enough, I didn’t have a lot of time to take photos of. And, however scary it was, for that last fantastic ride, it was well worth it.

So, overall I really liked the park, certainly a lot more then “equivalents” like SFA. Ride of Steel was a great coaster, and then things like Viper and Motocoaster were fun.

Up next is part two of the day, the awesome Martin’s Fantasy Island.

Okie dokie, Martin’s, which is the first “yeah, I took like, zero photos at this park” day. However, it was a freakin’ awesome day! The Log Flume was the funniest thing ever, like Jahan doing a successful leaf grab, which I tried to mimic and almost uprooted the whole tree… ooops! Then Silver Comet was an AWESOME woodie, Full Tilt was an insane flat ride, and the gentley-rotating Mouse was… well, OK, that was crap, but you can’t win them all! The Starflyer was freaking awesome as well, Natalie, you provided me endless entertainment on that ride, and it was well worth the dollar I spent on it! What else did I pay you a dollar for…? Oh, I Got It? That game was hilarious, throwing our balls all over the place, so funny. When they’d fly back out, and all stack, AGGH, SO frustrating!

OK, photo time!

This is THE only photo I took of Silver Comet, so enjoy. Also, “Forward Per Train Design”… OK…
100_4065.jpg

Natalie, this photo’s for you!
100_4067.jpg

A very shadowy, but proud Natalie after her ride… eating her hand for some reason… maybe she’s motioning to me that she stole my dollar…
100_4075.jpg

I could make a Adam, balls, groping, new, experimenting joke… but I won’t stoop to that level
100_4077.jpg

Full-Tilt made everyone go into a dancing mode… or the ABBA that kept playing, whichever
100_4080.jpg

Natalie does a more “seductive” dance… most likely directed towards at her new Alabama-raised squeeze
100_4082.jpg

Robbie just plain points at something… or maybe it’s his version of a dance?
100_4083.jpg

This up-skirt was the best photo I got of this freakin’ insane ride! SO funny! Although, Robbie, I felt so bad for you on your own, what was it you said about that group that couldn’t possibly have moved along one… I can’t remember, but it was HILARIOUS
100_4085.jpg

And the ride had this awesome “heart problems are represented by a band-aid” warning sign that was for some reason a lot funnier then that lame quote I came up with to describe it
100_4088.jpg

And although I don’t have any photos of the Log Flume itself, I did document the aftermath. It got Roxy ever so slightly wet. Just a bit. Just a little. Just a *hand gesture to show really small*
100_4089.jpg

Yeah. Wet.
100_4090.jpg

And that’s all the photos, haha. I did say they start getting useless, just wait until I reach the main part of the trip… LOL! Although, Canada’s Wonderland, which I’ll put up next, is gonna be full of a lot of photos cause I took a literal tonne that day!

Glad to hear that you liked DL better than we did and you are so right... Predator sucks!
Now you've got me wanting to go to Martin's as well. Damn you and your awesome PTRs!
I still want more. Bring it on...

Awesome trip reports, but the Darien Lake picture makes me sad that I missed so many credits when I was there. Oh well, I was young and stupid, and the only one I really regret missing out on was Superman. I was going to do Predator, but it ended up being closed when I went there ten years ago, but I guess that spared me the pain. I bet it wasn't as bad as Wild Beast though, eh?

Looking forward to more!

Ben

CF Legend
^NOTHING (apart from Leap-the-Dips) is as bad as Wild Beast!

OK, Canada’s Wonderland/Behemoth Bash. This was without a doubt the “biggest” park of the trip, but it wasn’t my favourite! That’s not to say I didn’t like the place, and I had an AWESOME day there, but all the coasters (bar three) STUNK. And to say the Powered Coaster was the third best coaster in a park of that size is a depressing thought. However, the flats were really fun, especially Sledgehammer, which I’d never heard a good thing about, but I LOVED! Psyclone was awful, it ran for maybe one full swing, but the Drop Tower was hilarious (Natalie loved it more then I did though, I could tell), and the Top Scan was running really well (although, my bad memory has a question, who did I ride that with, who had only “ridden” it on RCT3?). And I have to say, Behemoth rocked my socks a LOT more then I thought it would. The trains are seriously cool, and the last back-car rides with Roxy and Robbie were AWESOME to say the least. Shame it ate my name paper tag thing, but I forgive it. What else, oh yes, I really enjoyed Vortex, but it did try to kill my back, so I couldn’t re-ride it much. Wild Beast was one of the worst woodies ever, Kimmy, our ride on that was SO funny! Going up the lift like “uh, this is already rough… I’m scared” was a trip highlight for me. And I got to try funnel cakes, which I liked for maybe a bite, and then just felt sick, haha! I think that’s everything for CW… oh, and the SLC was awful! Big surprise there! OK… photo time.

Enjoying ERT by any chance are we Neil?
100_4101.jpg

Roxie doesn’t seem to share the enthusiasm…
100_4102.jpg

This is a sight I like to see in ERT
100_4103.jpg

See… I’m happy about it. Or am I happy that I just about still have my name tag?
100_4105.jpg

Yes, I took many vanity-shots on the trip, and I will force you all to look at them. This was my “yay, I <3 Behemoth but will still look grumpy about it” face
100_4108.jpg

This… thing… opened late, but I thought it was awesome of them to open Psyclone for us instead. Shame they couldn’t have run it on a better setting with more then one swing, but I aint complaining. What I AM complaining about is they opened the Volare at all
100_4109.jpg

Seriously, WHO designed these restraints? Someone without feelings, that much I can tell you
100_4110.jpg

Yes, this photo is needed in any Cedar Fail PTR
100_4111.jpg

I’m wondering if there’s more people or bins in the queue
100_4113.jpg

Brooke displays everyone’s general look when they see an SLC. And Roxie’s just giving me a “PUT THE FRIGGIN’ CAMERA AWAY” look. And Robbie, anyone else reminded of Cyclops from the X-Men when they see those glasses? Which, BTW, I think are awesome.
100_4120.jpg

This was funny… for reasons I don’t remember. Something about the blacked in teeth that Brooke said made me laugh enough to take the photo, but obviously not enough to remember the quote
100_4121.jpg

We interrupt this to remind you how much *this* part of the Volare sucked, even compared to the rest of it
100_4122.jpg

And although the photo sucks, this shows just how bad the SLC was. Look at that head-slamming action. SMACK. Bitch goes down.
100_4127.jpg

There we go, a nice photo after putting you through a photo of a Volare AND an SLC in a row
100_4128.jpg

This was during the whole ATM debacle, so Neil looks suitably saddened by the ordeal
100_4132.jpg

Yeah, I sat on the floor, so the next few photos are bought to you in midget-view
100_4133.jpg

Luke… what’s happening with your ear in this photo…? That’s about all I can notice to comment on… Oh, other then dude, seriously, pull that necklace out
100_4134.jpg

Cyclop… Robbie, I mean, enjoys what I hope is coffee, if it’s not, you coulda least shared!
100_4135.jpg

If anyone can tell me why this was funny, they can have a dollar
100_4136.jpg

Oh, Natalie’s perked up now I’ve started to offer dollars round
100_4139.jpg

Roxie’s reaction to not being able to find an ATM was not a positive one
100_4140.jpg

Cyclops-vision of moi
100_4144.jpg

Yikes, waiting past this sign wasn’t a good… well, sign
100_4145.jpg

Fortunately…
100_4146.jpg

The infamous “no jumping over six people” queue sign made an appearance at The Fly
100_4147.jpg

This was another attempt at taking a photo of the ride wait sign… thanks for that Roxie
100_4148.jpg

Anyone think she’s enjoying it?
100_4149.jpg

Dude, those Icees were freakin’ awesome! I think it was around this point my mouth started to turn a slight blue. But, this is not a photo of me, if you can’t tell.
100_4151.jpg

Random-queue shot
100_4152.jpg

Wow, what a lucky animal he is…
100_4153.jpg

Yep, another random-queue shot
100_4154.jpg

Looks like Roxie has penis envy, just directed to Nat’s camera
100_4159.jpg

Yeah, my inner-geek came out
100_4160.jpg

The Behemoth walk-back was very cool, and I LOVE the kink at the bottom of the great first drop
100_4180.jpg

They all be enjoying it too
100_4193.jpg

I was happy, honestly
100_4201.jpg

Not that I look it… maybe that’s because, as you can see, Behemoth ate my name-tag
100_4207.jpg

I liked groping the nuts
100_4208.jpg

This last hill was cool, but being able to wander under it was even cooler
100_4216.jpg

And I LOVED this drop off the helix, very cool at the back
100_4230.jpg

VERY pretty looking coaster
100_4234.jpg

I wander what the person at the front of the train is saying to his friend
100_4250.jpg

It’s a goose in Canada… that makes it a…?
100_4258.jpg

Yes, man in blue, that was pretty much my reaction too
100_4265.jpg

I have to take this photo as an opportunity to say how much I HATE the American way of running stations, just letting huge queues build up in these huge airgates
100_4268.jpg

Kimmy gets ready, something that Brooke finds hilarious for some reason
100_4269.jpg

Yet another photo of Natalie…I’m not 100% why I ended up with so many, but this was in the queue for the AWESOME Sledge Hammer ride which was so totally better then I thought it would be
100_4276.jpg

Another random queue photo
100_4277.jpg

Haha, why is this the best photo I have of this great ride?
100_4278.jpg

And this the only photo of the fountains? Man, my camera just dies when the sun goes down…
100_4289.jpg

OK, that’s it for Canada’s Wonderland, a park I enjoyed more then I thought I would, and I had a great day there.

Next up would be… Marineland? Yeah. Or RCT scenario land.

Wow Ben, I just noticed how high your coaster count is, haha.

Nice Canada's Wonderland report you have going there. I'm glad you enjoyed Behemoth, but it definitely is not anywhere near as good as El Toro. As for the kink at the bottom of the drop, I didn't think you'd be able to notice it, but I actually did notice it and I actually wasn't even looking for it because I forgot it was even there.

You exaggerate with the Volare and the SLC. Time Warp wasn't bad at all; yes, it had some sharp transitions, and the restraints are a bit weird, but even if the restraints are weird the only part you're hitting against is the head cushion. Flight Deck wasn't bad either; I didn't come off with a headache like I did before on Thunderhawk, but to me they're about the same. It wasn't too terrible.

The standup wasn't as bad as you say either. I didn't get really any headbanging on that. And I agree that they need to take better care of the stations in terms of the over crowding. Wild Beast had possibly the worst station cramming I had ever seen. Oh and speaking of Wild Beast, I have to agree that it is one of the worst wooden coasters ever. As soon as I was down the first drop I wanted off.

Ben

CF Legend
OK, I’m gonna do Marineland and Waldameer as one for three reasons. 1. They were the same day. 2. I took like, five photos at each. 3. I can.

OK, Marineland. I did not like this park, not really. And no matter how far they made us walk, I disliked it the same amount. It was just a huge grass area with a ride at either end and an endless walk. And my lord, trying to get up that hill to the S&S was like a marathon! As I think either Robbie/Luke said, it’s like a RCT scenario where you have a huge, dumpy park with one ride and have to raise money from one coke stand in order to finance the place. And Dragon Mountain was fun and all, but it did hurt me…

This was probably taken from the closest other ride.
100_4292.jpg

FRIENDSHIP COVE! Haha, that’s for you Robbie
100_4293.jpg

The “no Robin Hoods allowed” sign
100_4294.jpg

The Topple Tower which terrifyingly dangled you over some… FLOWERS! Ahhh… scary…
100_4295.jpg

I thought this part of the ride was cool how you’re in a tunnel and then *BHAM* light
100_4296.jpg

And how it follows the ground made me think of a Arrow version of the Ultimate, just less… good
100_4298.jpg

This is a bear. They are cute. That’s about it. They were the best about Marineland, really. Or, as I’ve now decided to call it, Six Flags Sea World. Although, I prefer it to Sea World. That place really grinds my gears.
100_4301.jpg

He got wet
100_4304.jpg

Bear-soup!
100_4307.jpg

Now, there are two rows of people on this that don’t need to feel dirty. I’ll let you figure out who.
100_4310.jpg

OK, you ALL should feel dirty (and yes, this was when I was queuing…)
100_4311.jpg

Culture credit 1
100_4320.jpg

But, there’s a ride in this picture, so it doesn’t count as culture. Yay!
100_4325.jpg

Over at Waldameer, a park that I LOVED. It had such charm, and it helped it had what was at this point, my favourite Woodie!
100_4330.jpg

Oh, and only the best show IN HISTORY. Complete with, yep, some of you guessed it, TIE-DYE! Even before it was cool! Wow, does their power know no boundaries?
100_4333.jpg

Yep, a huge group of coaster enthusiasts did choose this AWESOME dude over a great woodie. Twice.
100_4334.jpg

The women even went as far as grinding Luke in an attempt to be as awesome as Trevor, they still failed.
100_4335.jpg

I bet there’s someone here that can still remember exactly what they’re singing at this point
100_4336.jpg

I know they’re 70s, but I really liked that dress…
100_4340.jpg

Doesn’t work as well as a top, but Trevor pulled it off
100_4341.jpg

HAHA! The 80s part! “It gave way to awesome sayings like NOT!”
100_4342.jpg

I think this may very well have been the highlight of Brooke’s, well, life… it was certainly Trevor’s
100_4343.jpg

See… note how everyone, and Tony, is watching from behind, haha, thought that was hilarious the attraction was deserve
100_4344-1.jpg

Oh, there were coasters as well…
100_4345.jpg

And a freakin’ insane Drop Tower!
100_4353.jpg

Ravine Flyer III was ALMOST as good as II. Not quite, but we re-rode it cause it was that good
100_4356.jpg

This is the ONE photo of RFII I have for a few reasons. 1. It’s built on, well, a Ravine, and you can’t see it… good. 2. It was dark when we actually tore ourselves from Retroactive and rode it, haha!
100_4361.jpg

Oh no, who could possibly have done that, I have no idea…
100_4363.jpg

And I close the photos of Waldameer off with another RETROACTIVE!
100_4364.jpg

And I must say, that ERT session was Godly. Roxie, our ride when the heavens just opened is *the* moment of the trip I will never, ever, ever, ever forget. That was insane to say the least! And running through the park after and just turning to Robbie “do you have any idea where we are?” “um… no…”, that was so deliriously funny in the wet, cold, thunder, confusion… etc.

Next up, well, not Idlewild since I failed at photos at that park and took none. But, Paul Bunyan and the Caterpillar are forever lodged in my mind. So, Lakemont and DelGrossos!

I haven't been to Marineland in ages, but I get what you mean; it's not a really spectacular park, and everyone complains about the long walk up to the drop tower. It's a good park for smaller kids with all the animals except the completely evil deer that literally swallowed my arm up to the elbow and traumatized me for life, but whatever.

And haha I like the Topple Tower caption.

XScream is one of my fav drop towers (with a D!) and Ravine Flyer II in the dark is one of the top rides of all time. But you did better than that by riding it in a storm! Ravine Flyer II + Night + Lightning & Thunder = overdose!

OK, so as I said before, I failed at Idlewild, and I left my camera on the bus- so zero photos! Such a shame because it was one of my favourite parks of the trip. Just everything about it was awesome- Rollo, the Mouse, Mr Roger’s, Adult Hand Karts, Confusion Hill, the Caterpillar, Paul Bunyan… loved it.

So, I guess I’ll skip straight to Lakemont, a pleasant enough place, the highlight of which was certainly Peanut Butter Shake- The Ride, a much better alternative to that scary, ghetto flat, eh Robbie?

The first thing we did (well, second, the first we did was eat) was my 250th, the “classic” Leap-the-Dips, and to prove it’s classic, even ACE say so (not that it didn’t seem by this point that they gave these out like candy)
100_4369.jpg

And there it is. Looking innocent enough, but this ride hurt me like no other ride or other physical experience has hurt me. Sitting in the back was NOT fun as the whole car came off the track, launching us up with it, only to slam back down, and yes, slam us back down with it. The bruises at the bottom of my back eventually did go, so there’s a slight positive. I guess. Although, crazy how different riding experiences can be between the front and back, since Kimmy and whoever rode with her, liked it! Madness I tell you! (Oh, and who took the photo of us doing ghetto-250? Me want :p). God, this caption went on, I’ll post the photo now…
100_4370.jpg

And the Toboggan, which yes, we squeezed two in. Just. Resulted in a hilarious ride, and it didn’t hurt (well, too much).
100_4371.jpg

We will not discuss this ride.
100_4372.jpg

Woo, Skyliner. It was fun, but eh. Just kinda “there”.
100_4373.jpg

See, “there” it is
100_4375.jpg

But, these guys seem to be blurrily enjoying it, so it’s all good
100_4374.jpg

There was something interesting about these, but, yet again, I fail at remembering what
100_4377.jpg

This is the view you get in the front seat (and I warn, I get geekier then this shortly)
100_4378.jpg

I did warn you, but I was just so excited to be allowed my camera on a ride, I had to take lift-hill porn
100_4379.jpg

Wow, there actually ARE photos of people at Lakemont. Jeez. Sorry it’s taken this long, ha. I’m not sure what Josh is doing… I’m 99% sure he was telling me to move my fat head so he could get in on the lift hill porn…
100_4380.jpg

Oh yeah, this is the woodie that’s “famous” for being next to this… I wanna say baseball stadium? It’s obviously a very popular place, whatever it is
100_4381.jpg

Uh, yeah
100_4384.jpg

OK, I didn’t warn it’d get THIS geeky… But man… that spring… I’m not entirely sure what it’s doing there…
100_4385.jpg

I never noticed how slanty the brakes were until now…
100_4388.jpg

This was in the “queue” for the Toboggan (ie, a hoard of people somewhere approximately near the entrance of the ride)… Robbie’s obviously just heard my suggestion we ride together
100_4389.jpg

Oh, we’re over at DelGrosso’s now. How’d that happen? I only have photos of the kiddie coaster, for shame! So no sauce, and even sadder, no blacklight ninja kittie! Anyway, this is all the whores, and I think I see one kid, and they’re not with us. For shame!
100_4390.jpg

Aww, but the one kid does at least love the camera attention
100_4392.jpg

I’m posting this whore photo cause, A., whose random thumb is that? And B. You can see Luke’s shirt, which leads me to say, dude, your “slogan” shirts were awesome. You need to get one that says “keep this park clean cause MY FAMILY come here too”. That’d be too cool.
100_4393.jpg

And my God, possibly the worst photo of me ever, but this is to illustrate, yes, we did have to be sad and pathetic cause we wouldn’t fit on the first train…
100_4394.jpg

That’s it for Lakemont/DelGrossos, sorry it was a fail as far as photos go… But, Sesame Place and the start of East Coast next! Yay! That’s gotta count for something…

Ben

CF Legend
Aww, so it was time to say bye to (most) of the people who would be leaving us today! Brooke, Robbie, Natalie, Neil, everyone, you guys were missed! And after a few tears were shed (well, one lonely one stood in a parking lot, ha, I’m so lame!), we were off to Sesame Place, which, while only a “kiddie park”, I really liked! I thought it was really nicely kept, and the place would have been a blast if I was ten years younger. Despite the fact we rode a grand total of one ride, the rope course and Elmo-show were a blast! And the food in weird and wonderful plastic shapes was also a lot of fun! My blue Cookie Monster takes pride of place on the toilet in the corner of my room.

The view you get when coming in (though I took this leaving, it makes sense at the start, so blegh to continuity)
100_4448.jpg

Just in case you didn’t get where we went, Roxie will model it for us
100_4450.jpg

OK, so this was basically the reason all of us whores were there
100_4397.jpg

Someone will have to explain what the ride/name is actually all about, I didn’t really watch Sesame Street…
100_4398.jpg

I’ve always loved these tire lift hills cause the amount of tires seems so random. I’m sure there’s a reason, but I just hear Vekoma going “oh, we’ll have two here, two here, oooh, put five there, and just one there, on it’s own”
100_4399.jpg

We then ate, and came to highlight number one, being creepy at the back of the Elmo show! Roxie’s a little *too* excited!
100_4400.jpg

As is Luke… who is wearing shades inside…
100_4401.jpg

Gawd…
100_4402.jpg

The show was a little trippy, and had something to do with fish (the animal, not the girl…)
100_4408.jpg

I think Elmo was dancing at this point
100_4410.jpg

Who *is* this, I must ask? Sort of reminded me of a cartoon version of Borat, only American
100_4416.jpg

And a woman handed Elmo her baby. Well, the baby she didn’t eat.
100_4420.jpg

See, knew it had something to do with fish, here’s Elmo demonstrating
100_4424.jpg

This was just weird, she was explaining *something*
100_4426.jpg

There was a fish playing a sax, so it gets points for that
100_4427.jpg

Um, did say it was trippy
100_4428.jpg

I don’t even know what to say about this…
100_4431.jpg

Then it was time for the rope course! It was awesome! Roxie wasn’t so impressed though…
100_4433.jpg

And too show her disapproval, promptly fell over
100_4434.jpg

Yes… yes… that’s a nice bag
100_4435.jpg

Roxie tackles one last bit before she gives up and leaves halfway through! Boos to her for not finishing!
100_4436.jpg

It gave a pretty decent view of the ride area
100_4437.jpg

Yeah, I think that’s a “screw this” face if I’ve ever seen one!
100_4438.jpg

Yep, that’s a lot of on-the-knee-rope-burn
100_4439.jpg

And Josh needed a rest before we finished
100_4440.jpg

But promptly perked up when someone suggested we tickle Luke (loving all five of those chins as well, BTW)
100_4441.jpg

Yeah… he obviously appreciated that a lot
100_4442.jpg

And that green box is where I almost got my ass kicked by a 6 year old from Northampton (but the American one). Psycho kid, I just liked your top!
100_4444.jpg

Honestly, we did not touch it
100_4446.jpg

And that was Sesame Place! Off to Coney Island next!

Ben

CF Legend
OK, Coney Island. A place that ended up pretty much terrifying me, but I kinda liked. It was a lot like I thought it would be, but even more ghetto and scary! The drive to the park was probably the most interesting part, with views like this being quite exciting to someone who is used to London and all both of its skyscrapers. Although, I am aware this is a terrible photo, it gets the point across
100_4451-1.jpg

But, that didn’t compare to some of the stuff we saw in Brooklyn… McDonalds Express, for instance. What the hell is that? Then we arrived at the park, and everyone headed to this…
100_4457-1.jpg

Well, I tried to find a toilet. Interesting experience to say the least… By this point we lost like, everyone else, but got to be the first in the front after Robb finished, so it wasn’t all bad. Apart from the fact it sucked in the front I mean. This part sucked perhaps the most. Apart from the really random painful sideways hill at the end.
100_4458-1.jpg

And yes, I only look like that because this is before we rode…
100_4460-1.jpg

We then managed to catch up with everyone, rode the scary Mini Apple (eventually, after the human equivalent of 101 Dalmatians cut in front of us), and then hit up everyone’s favourite - another kiddie coaster! Which, BTW, Luke, there’s no need to look so disgust about…
100_4462-1.jpg

OK, maybe you should have stuck with disgusted…
100_4463-1.jpg

It gives a pretty view of Cyclone, which at this point still sucked
100_4464-1.jpg

And then it was time for the Wheel, which I thought I’d hate, but I LOVED! BTW, these must be the closest whore opportunities ever. Love them.
100_4468-1.jpg

The wheel gives you a view of what I imagine explains a lot of the park’s clients
100_4471-1.jpg

Josh didn’t like it as much as I did…
100_4472-1.jpg

I see you tiny-yet-awesome Drop Tower
100_4473-1.jpg

And random kiddie rides. Yay. Exciting.
100_4474-1.jpg

A few things to note. A. Hmmmm, what beautiful atmosphere the bottom of the photo gives. B. This must be where every school bus in the US comes to sleep. C. You can’t see it, but that stadium has a really cool little fake coaster on the side. D. Awww, poor Parachute Tower.
100_4476-1.jpg

There’s a bridge. Big. May have a proper name. I don’t know it however.
100_4477-1.jpg

This creepy guy hung out above the awesome Spook-a-rama. Another scary dark ride we had to take Josh on because we’re cruel.
100_4479-1.jpg

There’s the Wheel with a car in mid-awesome-swing
100_4480-1.jpg

This is the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen anywhere ever.
100_4485-1.jpg

That’s not our bull!
100_4488-1.jpg

Seriously, freakin’ insane little thing!
100_4490-1.jpg

This alley-area was scary as hell! I’m sure this is the one where we got randomly attacked by a game stall man who didn’t want to leave Josh alone
100_4491-1.jpg

So, we went back to re-ride…
100_4492-1.jpg

And this time we walked-on (plus point one)
100_4494-1.jpg

And rode in the back - and it was AWESOME! A lot smoother, and a much, much better ride!
100_4501-1.jpg

We also did the insane manual Top Spin, which was out of this World!
100_4502-1.jpg

And ate pizza next to a highly a-musing bin (get it, a-musing, like a-team…)
100_4503-1.jpg

Here’s the Big Wheel.
100_4505-1.jpg

And a stroll along “Brighton Beach” finished the day off. Ironic I’ve been to this one, but not the English one. Good work Ben.
100_4511-1.jpg

And that was it for Coney - a scary place, but I’m glad we did it since it doesn’t look like it has too long (Astroland, at least). The next day was SFNE! Woo!

I soo should have gone to Coney Island when I was in New York last year, but I didn't. It seems like a cool park, and even though the atmosphere looks like crap, I kinda like way it looks because it has that original park feeling from back in the day when they didn't theme things, if you know what I mean? You know, the original boardwalk style park feel.

I'm glad you ended up liking Cyclone; I would like to ride it just because of the fact it's a classic! Also, I bet that Top Spin isn't as insane as Geauga's was.. How many flips in a row did it do?

Ben

CF Legend
OK, so it was time for the first full day of the East Coast tour with Six Flags New England. Now, we spent two mornings here, but I’ll just do them as one trip report, cause I can’t be bothered to do it any other way. I is lazy, I know.

So where better to start then with an entrance photo?
100_4518.jpg

I have no idea if this was first or second in ERT… But, we rode it in ERT! I really liked it, and thought it was a lot of fun. Kind of along the lines of Nemesis Inferno, which I also think is cool!
100_4521.jpg

Anyone spot the irony here?
100_4523.jpg

You all have been warned. But, they can’t enforce it, so I guess you haven’t been THAT warned.
100_4524.jpg

Yay, TPR members getting ready for their ride
100_4526.jpg

On the “counter-clockwise” coaster. The weirdest one was Pandemonium, which was “spinning”. So it’s “clockwise” for the SLC, “counter-clockwise” and then “spinning”. Well done.
100_4527.jpg

I really liked how you could bump into characters around the park. Very ghetto-Disney
100_4533.jpg

And so I don’t have to explain who he is…
100_4525.jpg

The Drop Tower was cool, only because we rode with some randomer who was terrified.
100_4529.jpg

Yay, Kiddie Coaster whoreage! I didn’t take any of the ride, so the sign will do
100_4530.jpg

While this Woodie sucked awfully, what is that I see in the structure?
100_4531.jpg

Subtlety-fail!
100_4532.jpg

Oh, they happen to have this ride too…
100_4535.jpg

But, a few of us preferred this ride… VERY few though
100_4536.jpg

We hung out in the Justice League for a while because A. We couldn’t be bothered to ride at this point and B. It had air-con
100_4537.jpg

We found Batman in the Justice League!
100_4538.jpg

And actually bumped into some other guys we knew
100_4539.jpg

SMILEY CONTROL PANEL
100_4540.jpg

Yeah, the Wonder Woman was in amazing shape
100_4541.jpg

And no, Robin is NOT Batman’s bitch. And yes, we asked
100_4542.jpg

Group photo time!
100_4544-1.jpg

Ew. Yes that IS sweat. Back sweat. Charming.
100_4545.jpg

I kinda liked this area (we see you Superman)
100_4546.jpg

Embarrassing photo 1
100_4548.jpg

Superman. I kinda liked it, but not how it was hyped up to be.
100_4551.jpg

Overall, I preferred Dutch Goliath
100_4552.jpg

Thus begins random characters with me photos
100_4554.jpg

Shaggy. Baby.
100_4556.jpg

Haha, Tweety at lunch was awesome!
100_4557.jpg

The SLC wasn’t half as bad as some others I’ve done, but that might have been because I rode with Dave who kept yelling at me how to do the Vekoma Brace Position - thanks, it helped!
100_4634.jpg

Eh, Darien’s non-Superman did that better
100_4633.jpg

For the Aussies. I still don’t know what it’s all about…
100_4630.jpg

I was gutted it was shut… Less fun.
100_4636.jpg

Speaking of which… OMG, it’s the Japanese/Chinese/whatever guy!
100_4629.jpg

I didn’t ride cause these things suck!
100_4628.jpg

And I close it off with “the wheel”
100_4559.jpg

I really liked SFNE overall. For anyone that’s been, it really reminded me of a less themed version of Warner Bros Movie World Madrid. They could do with something else though, but I’m not entirely sure what…

Next up would be that evening at Quassy, and the awesome Lake Compounce!
