What is your favourite drop tower?

For traditional towers, Detonator is horribly intense. The drop is so sharp and sudden that it always catches me off guard, especially as it really shoots you down. Overall favourite though? Ikaros. Whilst it may be forceless, the sheer height of the tower and the tilting really makes it a...

    Favourite coaster drop?

Tricky to give an all-time favourite, but Wildfire on the back-row has a stellar drop. It feels like endless floater... pure bliss.

Your first, favourite and least favourite coaster from each manufacturer

Ehh might as well Intamin First: Thirteen (66) Best: Taron (1) Worst: Insane (77 or however many coasters I'm on now- regardless, it's at the bottom) GCI First/Best: Wodan (2) Worst: Joris en de Draak (Vuur) B&M First: Air (26) Best: Nemesis (3) Worst: Silver Star (35) Mack First: Runaway...

    Bad Theme Park Translations

The same page also mentions three inversions, "ie when you go uphill".

What theme park's entrance is your favourite?

Easily Efteling for me. A great entrance needs a huge thing that makes you go "oh ok, that's pretty large and awesome", and Efteling does it the second you drive in.

Opinions on the best European coaster, and why

Taron, without a doubt. The sheer intensity of this ride is just crazy, and you don't know the definition of lateral forces until you've ridden it. Oh, and that theming is just top notch.

    Top 10 Theme/Amusement Parks

I haven't visited a huuuge amount of places, but the top five or so are really special in my humble opinion. 1. Efteling Spent two days here last spring and wow, what a park! Everything here is just so damn good. Sure, the rides may not be hugely intense, but they all boast so much character...

Has a Scare Attraction Ever Been Too Much?

I think it really depends on the individual and what their fear threshold is like. I don't scare easily but there's almost certainly some extreme attractions (including that one that we won't mention) that would probably be too much- but I'm yet to find anything so intense that I've had to leave...

    Solo Sweden (May 2019)

Great report! Was actually doing the same trip as you but just offset by a day, although I'm sure we probably crossed paths without knowing at Liseberg on the Sunday! Somewhat glad to hear that my views on Liseberg are similar- lovely place, but because Helix was shut, we can't really judge it...

Coasters you would love to achieve a milestone on

Jugdging on my current count and with my current plans for the next few years, I'm considering trying to Big Thunder Mountain at DLP as my 100th. It may not be the biggest ride in the world, but if I also tried to make it my first ever Disney ride, it'd be nice and symbolic. Or I could make it...

Best coasters you don't want to ride that much? (not ridden yet)

Shambhala doesn't particulary interest me that much. Sure, it looks great, but I've heard some horror stories about PortAventura (and I literally melt in anything above 20 degrees so going to Spain would be an endurance test!). Then a controversial opinion is less of one particular ride, but...

What was the first foreign roller coaster you ever rode?

Mine was Wodan back in 2016, which was also my first wooden coaster. Two birds with one stone.

Are shows essential to a good theme park?

I'm all for shows and roaming characters in parks. I fondly remember strolling through Phantasialand and seeing a random little stunt show- was a nice distraction that added a little to our day. I haven't seen many park shows (purely because most of the UK ones are based at little kiddies) but I...

    The Best Dark Ride?

Favourite dark ride is easily Symbolica- the music, the theming... everything is gorgeous. Don't think anything will come close (until I get to Disney that is)

If you could bring a ride to its original form...

First thing that springs to mind is Chessington's Vampire with the full theatricality of the ride. Other suggestions are other UK rides such as The Haunted House, Bubbleworks etc. before they were botched to death!

Your Year in Review: 2019 edition on page 5

We rode on the front but I was riding with someone considerably larger so the restraint did nothing (which could be a good thing depending on who you are). Just found it to be far too uncomfortable to warrant rerides.
