    Theme Park Funnies

I thought it would be a nice idea to try to bring together a collection of theme park-related comedy the enthusiast's pleasure. I'd imagine that this will become a fairly image-intensive thread so, be warned. Please post sources when/where appropriate. Here are some I've found to start off...

    California Adventure before California Adventure

I've been trying to find pictures of the spot that California Adventure is in from before it was built, but it's proving rather difficult, am I right in thinking it was just a lake? If anybody could assist me it would be greatly appreciated.

    Alton Towers Scarefest 2012

The whole Scarefest 2012 lineup is exactly the same as last year with exception to 'The Boiler House', which has been replaced by 'The Sanctuary. However, the ticket/booking system has been altered in a way that allows cheaper maze entry at earlier parts of the day, and individual maze tickets...

    Videos of Coasters Stalling

My brother is trying to find videos of coasters stalling, he already has videos of TTD, Stealth and Hades but was struggling to find anymore. Videos of the coasters actually not making it around the track, rather than videos of the trains already stalled, etc would be fantastic. Thanks a lot :--D

    Park Attendance Report 2011

The TeaConnect global theme park and water park attendance reports for 2011 are now available here. Generally same old, same old. Islands of Adventure obviously saw a decent increase due to Wizarding World. However, I found it interesting that Alton Towers' attendance decreased by over 5%...

    Information on Theme Park Music

For the dissertation part of my Creative Music Technology degree I'd love to write about music in theme parks, but I'm not sure on how much reputable information there is on the topic. If anybody knows of any books, or even websites, articles, etc on this kind of thing then I'd love to hear...

    The Next Tallest, Fastest Rollercoaster

Shambhala opened today at Port Aventura, and is the tallest coaster in Europe, but not the fastest. As of late the tallest and fastest rollercoasters in the world have become two different rides, which is the first time in theme park history that this has ever happened. I am personally very...

Good Places to Eat in Anaheim?

Me and my brother (bezzzzzzzzzzzzer) were just watching Man vs Food, and we started talking about how we'd love to go to a "proper American" restaurant, and wondered if there were any good places to eat like that in Anaheim (preferably within walking distance of Disneyland).

Does Every Kids Area Need An IP?

After the installation of Ice Age 4D: Experience at Alton Towers (obviously alongside Charlie), Nickelodeon land at BPB, Peppa Pig at Paulton's, Thomas and Ben 10 at Drayton Manor and Madagascar at Chessington, I can't help but feel that parks will feel like they can't compete without having an...

    World's Longest Album Record Attempt

I write and produce (somewhat experimental) electronic music, ranging from Ambient to Breakcore to DnB(click here if you're interested), and I'm starting work now on creating a 10 hour long album which I'm releasing through my friends at Pegasia Music who believe in the release of high quality...

    Theme Park Resorts

I'd assume most of you to agree that the theme park industry is bigger than it's ever been, and it's only getting bigger. Because of this it is very rare to find a successful theme park without them sticking a hotel on the side and calling it a "Resort". It seems like a good way of both making...

What the original Epcot a big deal at the time?

I was just thinking about the original ideas for Epcot and I wondered if when Walt released the plans and spoke about the original Epcot it was a really big moment, which a lot of people were aware of and talking about, or was it not that well thought of?

Did McFly rename Nemesis "Wonderland" at any point?

Just to settle a dispute me and my friend are having. She says that when McFly played at alton towers around 2005 they renamed Nemesis to "Wonderland" for a whole year. I told her it was ****, can anyone prove me wrong?

    Cleethorpes Late 1800's

My brother (bezzzzzer) is a primary school teacher, and we live near Cleethorpes. The council gave him access to a powerpoint about local history, which covered Cleethorpes and their tourist attractions and I just thought a few of these pictures were worth sharing. This is a "Batho Chute"...

Which will be the first SW to be removed?

There have been a few very loose rumours in the past few years about Nemesis reaching it's end, I tend to write these off as being completely false, but it gets me to thinking, which of Alton Towers' "Secret Weapons" do you think will be removed first? Surely they can't last forever, but can...

    Vekoma Freefall Concept

Found this video and thought it was quite an interesting, and very possible, idea. But it would probably be quite expensive for what is essentially the same effect as an Intimin drop tower. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEmXFYQrbUE&feature=feedrec_grec_index

    Best Horror Mazes in London?

Me and the fam are spending a week in London as of tomorrow, whoring out our Merlin Annual Passes, and we are fond of horror mazes. As I'm sure some of you will know London boasts quite a few, and we were wondering which ones would be worth doing over others?
