    Disney's Hollywood Studios | Monsters Inc | Vekoma (?) SFC | 202?

It's like the very start of Soarin' but even more terrifying. It's so weird, things like Kingda Ka or Fury 325 don't bother me at all, but getting yanked up into the air like this gives me the heebie jeebies

    WTF Merlin?

Does it indicate any real investment anywhere else though (especially with the news about them cutting staff at Alton Towers for example last year)? Like if my bills have gone up and I sell my car so I can keep up with them, it doesn't mean I'm suddenly going to start investing more in my...

Universal considering UK theme park in Bedford

It also happens to be the details from Epic Universe. The Helios hotel in the park is 500 rooms and there's 4 themed areas (plus the middle hub area). I really think they just made it up.

Universal considering UK theme park in Bedford

Yeah I wouldn't trust a word of that Mirror article, since it's all things we pretty much know already along with a guess as to how long it will take to build. If they had some inside source I'd expect some kind of new information. The whole 'given the go ahead' but with 'financial arrangements...

Higher education in the UK; is a bleak future ahead?

As a teacher, I see it as a similar problem to what happened with Academies in Primary and Secondary Education, the focus shifted to a business model of 'how can we get results for as little money as possible' instead of 'how can we help society'. Universities being run as a business are...

Strongest and weakest parks for operations/throughputs

I remember when Air opened at Alton Towers we had been queuing for about three hours, watching them dispatch one train every 15 minutes. A member of staff came down the queue and told us from where we were (a little bit before the split to the left and right sides) it was probably going to be...

Strongest and weakest parks for operations/throughputs

Disney do an amazing job with the sheer number of staff and letting you take whatever on the ride with you. Watching Big Thunder Mountain load and dispatch trains from two stations at once is a thing of beauty.

Project 305 - Intimidator 305 "Transformation" to Pantherian

Yeah it looks good, a bit 'JCB', but that's fine!

Alton Towers | Unknown | Unknown Junior Coaster | 2026

Nascar the ride? Why is it just an oval? Maybe they bought Kingda Ka and are whacking it in

Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

...how on earth do they pull it through that airtime hill?

    Walibi Holland | YoY | RMC Raptor | 2025

I'm fully expecting the soundtrack for this ride to be Euro-techno with a ride operator shouting 'scream if you want to go faster'.

Major Expansion Announced for Tokyo DisneySea

Staying in the hotel is definitely much easier if you're planning to spend whole days in the park, like if it's your first time. You get in a little bit earlier (and completely skip the giant queues), can book your fast passes as soon as you're in the gate (when we went earlier in the year we...

Alton Towers | Toxicator | Huss Top Spin | 2025

Makes the decision not to go back to AT next year even easier. Haven't been since 2019 and them not really adding anything new since then seems crazy. Lots of odd decisions from the park over the last decade.

    Universal Studios Japan | Mine-Cart Madness | "Boom Coaster" {Rumour} | 2024

Might have a chance at a soft opening! We got into Fantasy Springs at Tokyo Disney a week or so before it opened and it seems we were able to get a lot more done than people were in opening week.

Kingda Ka and Green Lantern's removal for new 2026 record-breaking coaster

It's crazy what's happening to all these tall and fast coasters. Almost like them losing titles to Falcon's Flight has made the operators not bother with any more maintenance. I wonder if we'll see any of the parks work on something ridiculous to try and get one of the titles back. It's hard to...

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

Did they ever manage to fix the lift hill motor noise? In the main queue it's genuinely so loud that it puts me off queuing for the ride again - I'm sure it can't be working as planned or meeting all the guidelines, it was painfully loud when we went.

Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

I wonder if the little windshields make it more aerodynamic or add more drag than your average guest. Almost seems like they'd want to have a bit of drag on this - maybe they'll tell everyone that you HAVE to put your hands up for the cliff plunge.

    Rank the RMCs

Thought I'd post now I've got a few more under by belt - still really want to get on Iron Gwazi! 1. Twisted Colossus (SFMM) - I'm a sucker for duelling coasters and this is easily the best 2. Zadra (Energylandia)- That stall is glorious and I think it sits just on the right side of intensity...

Thorpe Park hasn't turned things around

Yeah I heard so many people in the queue before we were let in getting annoyed at the notice about Hyperia being delayed. It wasn't clear at all either, the app just said 'opening soon' and it was clearly testing, could have done with a sign saying 'Hyperia will not open at 10:00am - Check back...
