I said almost. It's nothing like a themed area obviously, but there are not that many opportunities to get close to a low to the ground coaster where I have been and where the park takes the effort to integrate pathways with a coaster design. Most launch coasters seem like they could be removed...
Nice integration of pathways in that coaster design, tunnels and a coaster bridge. Should be quite an immersive experience walking around, almost like in Klugheim.
I think it will be more intense than say Galactica/Air since it will be taller and probably faster but it won't be like Taron 80mph quick direction changes flying out of your seat madness.
The head banging got much worse recently I reckon. I don't remember it being a headbanger at all before 2009. I went back this year after 10 years to ride Rock n Roller for the last time but the corkscrew towards the end was near unbearable, especially in the back. I came to marathon Rock N...
I think Knightmare is unsalvageable now and too old school to learn anything from going forwards. Regardless the ride experience is too similar to something like Colossus to provide anything new. I think Thorpe Park would most likely be looking at a smallish RMC or a medium sized GCI (maybe even...
On a side note: I was pleasantly surprised with Olympia/Munich Looping this weekend at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. Perhaps one of the best sit down coasters with inversions I've done (better than Colossus I'd say). Looking at the stats I was also surprised that Olympia is actually taller and...
I like a lot of the ImaScore stuff I've heard but since my favourite coaster music is Icon from The Notable Stranger and you have other composers such as Blake Robinson who did a a superb job with re-imagining the Star Wars theme recently I don't have a clue why theme parks constantly go to one...
Nice animation!
Looks pretty good. Not heading out to California for a while I reckon but definitely liked to ride this. I really like Dive Coasters. Seaworld is doing a good job moving away from the whale related stuff to more coasters in their parks. ?
RMC must have their track well protected from copying so I guess this will have to be different enough in some cosmetic fashion to be allowed. But maybe ride wise GCI would be able to do similar things as RMC. Will be interesting to see where this goes.
If a time traveller popped around for a cup of tea and said btw that Flamingo Land coaster is the last time you will see a coaster with more than 5 inversions built in the UK I'd be fine with that.
Which is why I don't believe the £20 million cost.
For anything north of £10 million you can get something custom designed, exciting and above all: NEW.
Anything from GCI or Gravity Kraft would have gotten my attention more.
I'm sure I'll go to ride it since I'm an enthusiast. But Intamin does...
Doctor Sleep
Pretty good but one scene I thought was quite disturbing and not necessary. The first act was slow so that didn't help. But it all headed in a decent direction towards the end but some of it was maybe too obvious with Ewan McGregor's character. I think they should have just called...
The big policed fountain is utterly stupid. When I entered Phantasialand I couldn't keep my eyes off the Wellenflug ride with the reactive fountain around it. Something like that makes much more sense for Blackpool Pleasure Beach as it suits the seaside fair theme so well and is low cost to operate.
Long term it makes more sense to go for something else in its place I think. Valhalla is just too costly to maintain and as rightfully is pointed out in the video the last thing BPB needs is some type of major water ride incident. The park might not be in a position to invest millions in a ride...
