I have absolutely no idea. I mean I remember running to Nemesis on school trips in the mid-90s and then just repeating that most of the day as there wasn't much else worth doing there in 95. At a total guess, I'm going with 612.5.
Like a few others, it was earlier than I thought. I thought it was going to be like 30, but courtesy of Alton Towers having more rides with a lower height requirement in the 80s, and a family visit to Florida in 91, it looks like I made my numbers 9 and 10 just before my 10th birthday.
Honestly - it's not even close. F & F is one of the worst things ever. And I don't just mean in terms of theme parks. Honesty you'd have to be actually certifiable to vote for it above Kong. If it gets a single vote I'll be amazed.
Hope you have a great trip Matt. You'll love the new Universal Coasters. When I see your trip report come up I'll make myself a nice coffee and sit down for the read
Is £150 really that expensive though?
I mean checking a random weekend in July you have:
Six Flags Great Adventure Platinum flashpass $185
Hersheypark Fast Track Unlimited $165
Universal Studios Orland (1 Park) Express unlimited £194
Busch Gardens Williamsburg $184.99
Cedar Point $199

Some good calls above! Esp the first drop on SLCs. It feels so good, so much promise and then first whiff of a lateral, bang, your head its the restraint and its torture.
I'd add the non-inverting loop on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and the interlocking loops on Loch Ness Monster
Nothing. By pretty much any matrix I can think of, my number 2 Velocicoaster (and probably even my number 3, Shambhala) beat my number 1, El Toro. However, isn't that the beauty of subjective assessment because I love El Toro. It just spoke to me and afterwards I just needed to sit down in near...
Here’s my awards. I’m going to call them the Emmys! Moment of genius. Wonder why no-one else has thought of that?
I’ve changed / added a few questions because, well, they’re my awards so why not!
Coaster count at start of 2022: 135
Coaster count at end of 2022: 218
New coasters ridden in...
I went there in summer and got 1. Yes 1 cred. Everywhere I turned things breaking down. This better be amazing for me to ever consider going back there!
I’d say universal Orlando. Don’t get me wrong it’s a brilliant park but is there really a must do? Don’t get me wrong, the mummy is good, and gringotts is alright, but you could pick up maybe 5/6 rides from next door in IOA and plonk them in here and they would be THE stand out ride in the park...
I miss the old chain lifts. Nothing like the click click click of the anti rollback to build the anticipation. If anything some of the new cable lifts are too quick as they don't allow you to really appreciate just how high up you are. Take I305 - the cable has you over the top before you're...
I agree with most things you say Matt but not on this one. Most would not be “perfectly good candidates”. Most would not be anything like even mediocre candidates. They’re a terrible bunch of chancers, liars, intellectually dishonest charlatans. And worse of all any of them with even a modicum...
What do you call a coaster when it’s totally overshadowed by both the view and a wooden box nearby, why it must be Defiance @ Glenwood Sorings of course.
The views up there are just incredible.
It turns out that those views don’t actually enhance a fairly average Gerst.
It goes straight...
Some final thoughts:
A total cred Count of 71 bringing me up to 212 in total.
A new top 10 of:
1) El Toro
2) Velocicoaster (yes, I moved this above Shambhala despite riding neither - just Pantheon made me realise how much I loved this ride)
3) Shambhala
4) Intimidator 305
5) Wicked Twister
6)...
For something a bit different, I let Millie write up her thoughts of the trip. I've left it completely unedited:
Hi this is Millie Emma’s daughter. I really enjoyed the trip my favourite parks were Hershey Park and Busch Gardens. I loved Griffin, it is my all time favourite coaster. A lot of...
Day 8 and we were off to Baltimore Airport to fly back. But on the way, what with our Six Flags season passes, it'd be rude to not try and tick off a few creds at Six Flags America. We knew that we weren't going to get them all, and a ridiculous wait at IHOP for breakfast, and then heavy...
