Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Wasn't it also announced that this coaster would be getting a lighting package from Skylines, or am I dumm.

I thought it looked like a stylized "0" (zero), like you'd see in a rocket launch count down 😅

Kent, England | The London Resort | Entertainment Complex

Like, if there isn't even a single coaster or ride on the docket for this project, does anyone even care anymore? 🤪

Again, I'm not ruling Zamperla out. I'm just saying it would be a stupid decision. Again, I'm not saying a company like Cedar Fair would never give Zamperla a chance on a major project. For all of Intamin's problems, wasn't the exact cause of the TTD accident how the trains were stored during...

"It's also close to Stakotra who while mainly working on intamin rides have been known to make track for reworked coasters, such as Coneylands Cobra." -Roomraider (Couldn't quote, for some reason)

And I wish them the best of luck; I truly do. How is it strange that Mack would chose themselves when selecting a ride for their park which exists, in part, to showcase their rides? Texas Giant broke some records upon opening, iirc, but would you call it a chain-defining coaster for Six Flags...

I definitely think Zamperla is a possibility, given all the anecdotal evidence and the bad blood between Intamin and Cedar Fair. But I also think Zamperla is a poor, poor choice, and going back to Intamin would have made more sense. Choosing almost any other manufacturer would have made more...

Marineland of Canada (may) be closing/sold

(Considering the conext, I think they meant "no available space for additional animal exhibits at existing SeaWorld parks".)

Whenever talking about TTD's capacity with a spike, they don't often mention how the original ride was broken down almost half the time. Even if the train cycle time is decreased with this updated version, the launch should be much more reliable, decreasing downtime, and increasing capacity as a...

"Unfortunate" is just a matter of perspective. The less they have to spend on Dragster, the sooner we get CP's next actual addition. #Optimism

    Your Least Common Opinion?

I've heard even the vest restraints don't fully solve the problem. The entire train needs to be retrofitted to prevent side-to-side shuffling because the wheels aren't flush with the track (and even then, the only SLC I hear is "perfect" is the morey's piers one, which was also re-tracked.).

coasters with multiple 'routes' (future coasters)

I'm not sure what the deal with Primordial is. Aside from that, I'm sure a park is going to try this, but it sounds like the kind of gimmick that would cost a lot for little return. And imagine being the guest who has ridden this ride 20+ times, but hasn't gotten a certain element? Wouldn't that...

Have we seen the demise of the large-scale wooden roller coaster?

I agree with what everyone here says, with one caveat: For the foreseeable future. If Intamin ever finds a way to make their prefab track more cost-effective, or if GCI or GG develop their own, more marketable equivalent, I think we could see some more 180+ foot woodies. Heck, maybe there will...

T3 is done for at Kentucky Kingdom

Ah, it was probably the old trains from SFNE's SLC. And Screamscape's rumor was predicated on DL's Mind Eraser's franken train not passing inspection, which was likely true as it abruptly got the new train.

T3 is done for at Kentucky Kingdom

Ah, I figured. I hadn't heard anything about Darien Lake's SLC getting removed. Where did you hear about it? It just got a hand-me-down train from New England's Goliath, too.

SFDE? 🤨 A [just about anything other than an SLC] would look really good in that spot. My money's on an STC though. Easily marketable as an upgrade, call it T4. Herschend and Vekoma seem to be working well together.

RMC and Larson International Merge (!)

Mildly interesting... ...Not trying to meme, here, I'm actually unclear how (if at all) this might affect either business. What does Larson look like with a touch of RMC? What does RMC look like with a touch of Larson? Other than, like, "haha rmc this larson loop", which is the joke everyone on...

What exactly are the signs that this is Zamperla? -El Toro Ryan's video and nebulous source. -Zamperla claiming their trains/launches will be on one of the world's fastest rides Neither of these is particularly concrete. "One of the world's fastest rides" could be marketing speak for "top ten...
