Yes, It's still open however may close soon to be turned into a Wallace and Grommit Attraction. The ride has been sbno through out the past few years and mainly opens when it's either busy or one of the other big rides are closed due to rain ect.

If it's the standard Traveling Flume layout I think it will have the same logs on wheels like the one at Blackpool or M&D's as you can see in this photo. The one at M&D's when I rode seemed to go round the corners pretty fast so I could see how this could happen.

I went in June/July and the crowds weren't to bad and in Sea World and Busch Gardens the rides were mainly walk on until 12 so it's not to bad. The only very busy park there was is Universal however If you Stay in the Hard Rock hotel for a night at Universal it gives you Express Plus passes...
