Lightwater Valley Big Ride Coming Soon?

The track's all steel though. It's only the two main lift hill structures that are made of wood. Sent from my G8441 using Tapatalk

    Your Least Common Opinion?

I've been thinking about this a bit since Zadra opened, and I just don't understand the point of ground-up RMC coasters with a wooden structure and i-box track. For the record I'm not including conversions and topper track - they have clear use case scenarios. Why bother building a whole new...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

So...instead of a swastika, it'll look like a triskele, which unfortunately, is also another symbol associated with the far right. I'm sure the ride is great though. Sent from my G8441 using Tapatalk

Kings Island | Orion | B&M Giga Coaster

Admittedly after rewatching the video, Orion only has one more big hill, but the treble clef (or whatever you want to call it) and the first massive turnaround seem like they might be more fun than Leviathan's overbanked turns. Essentially, I like the look of it, and I think it'll be a fairly...

Kings Island | Orion | B&M Giga Coaster

It's literally nothing like Leviathan. This has more of a focus on airtime hills, and twister elements. Don't get me wrong, Leviathan is really fun, but Orion's layout is what I wish the former was. Sent from my G8441 using Tapatalk

La Ronde | Vipère | Intamin Zacspin (relocated)

It's not the most violent headbanger out there but there's no way in hell I'd call Super Manege smooth. It's appropriately jerky for a Vekoma of its age, with the least enjoyable bit being the entrance to the first corkscrew. Sent from my G8441 using Tapatalk

Kings Island | Orion | B&M Giga Coaster

I sincerely hope it feels like more of a complete experience than Leviathan. It's fun, the drop is spectacular, but it feels like it ends just as it gets interesting. Every time I rode it, I desperately wanted there to be just one more airtime hill to really cap it off.

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Hmm...the 'face' thing combined with a bit of each coaster's logo. I bet it turns out to be something underwhelming like a best on-ride photo competition where the winner gets one free night in a stargazing pod. Sent from my G8441 using Tapatalk

    Kennywood | Steel Curtain | S&S Multi-looper

They must have bought this thing from Ikea. Sent from my G8441 using Tapatalk

    Canada's Wonderland | Yukon Striker | B&M Dive Coaster

The line does move pretty quickly, so we only waited 25 minutes the first time. That was with a half-full queue when the park was about half as busy as a weekend. Get on it early in the day because the queues got progressively longer throughout the day. It broke down the second time, so we ended...

    Canada's Wonderland | Yukon Striker | B&M Dive Coaster

I got the opportunity to ride Yukon Striker yesterday, and in my opinion it's a perfect addition for Canada's Wonderland. They were lacking a decent, modern multi-looper and this really makes up for the Arrow and Vekoma offerings. Incidentally, the first time I rode Flight Deck two years ago, it...

The next manufacturer to go big?

I think perhaps length should be taken into consideration in addition to speed and height - there are 'big' coasters at parks (like Maverick) that never break above 35 metres, but yet they more than meet the criteria for speed, and to add to it, they're massive financial investments. In my...

Seaworld San Diego | Tidal Twister | Skyline Skywarp Horizon

The only real interesting footage of the whole ride is at the 6:27 mark for anyone curious. The rest is partial shots over a fence and an awful lot of chatter about nothing much at all, except that it's quieter than HQCC...yay.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg | Pantheon | Intamin LSM Coaster

I was hoping for something a little...sassier. Like a drag race gif, or the classic Viola Davis eyeroll, but I'll guess that's fine.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg | Pantheon | Intamin LSM Coaster

A pun is a play on words; that's regardless of whether they look or sound the same. That linguistic flexibility is the beauty of puns and it legitimately works as a joke in the sense of both 'polar', and 'pole'. I get that some of you all have a problem with the kid, but don't you think this...

Freizeitpark Plohn | Dynamite | Mack BigDipper

I quite like the design of the trains; they seem to be styled pretty well for the explosives theme. I guess the other most obvious thing would be to do something like Mine Blower's trains, but I think these are a better fit for this one. Also, I do hope we see more of these Mack coasters pop...

Nagashima Spa Land | Hakugei | RMC I-Box Conversion of White Cyclone

If you can't get enough of the testing footage, here's some more close-ish shots from the latter half of the ride.

Seaworld San Diego | Tidal Twister | Skyline Skywarp Horizon

Every time I see the be of these I think, it looks terrible, but it's not an inherently awful product that couldn't be improved with a slight change. All they need to do is ditch the idea of the quasi-dueling passenger trains and it's already a less clunky idea. Having one single small train...

    Canada's Wonderland | Yukon Striker | B&M Dive Coaster

I get that it's a fairly small section after the brakes, but somehow the ride would seem too short and incomplete without it. Also, it's a couple of nice extra airtime moments...who doesn't love a bit of extra airtime?

Rides you rode in the opening season?

1991 - The Ultimate - have a blurry memory of it having OTSRs that year, and having my head bounced around like a popcorn kernel in a pan.
