This feels like a college aged thoosie studying web design had a big project to create a website and they ran with a wild pipe dream. I can see a park being built, but I would expect the final product to be more along the lines of a park like the ones that roomraider mentioned, not Balkans...
Not sure where $250m came from considering that the park's GM himself has stated that the Lost Island cost them $100m.
Sorry to burst the thoosie bubbles, but this park isn't getting built to draw the most hardcore coaster enthusiasts, nor any sort of international visitor, to Saudi Arabia...
Some more talking points...
So maybe they have a small amount of the funding needed for the project but they also don't have a good track record on past projects and certain individuals' backgrounds. Hello London Resort: United States edition?
While Intamin's quality has improved recently, you mentioned three other coasters that have also had their fair share of issues - 305 especially. 305 from the onset was susceptible to melting the coating on its wheels, resulting in sprinklers being added to cool them in the brakes and station...
Considering how much creativity and IP Intamin has "borrowed" recently from other manufacturers (Hot Racer from RMC Raptor, their own version of a Sky Rocket II, their own version of a Mack Powersplash, etc)...why not?
*sigh* here we go again.
Six Flags Qiddaya and the entire entertainment district that's currently under construction is funded by the Saudi PEF - for all intents and purposes, the Royal Saudi bank account. While there have been plenty of scumbag contractors using new amusement park builds to...
I'm sure it was pointed out already but the last Intamin installation at Cedar Point almost killed eight people, and that was the final straw following a long series of reliability issues on ALL their Intamins. Maybe most everyone now wasn't an enthusiast back then to know about Cedar Point's...
Bummed to hear about this. Since my first in '08, CF Lives evolved and strengthened my enthusiasm and allowed me to make lifelong friends. It wasn't fun learning about the scale back of Lives a couple years ago once the pandemic hit and this is no different. I'm glad that at least stateside we...
This is just a statement of ongoing service. All these companies either have signed contracts to do work with the park currently and/or provide parts or other services to the park. Zamperla, Gravity Group, and GCI are listed along with B&M...all are continuously servicing or improving existing...
This. Everyone is so quick to call this project a money laundering scheme while conveniently forgetting or simply not realizing that there is a literal mountain of financial backing behind this project, and I'd think we'd be hard pressed to see anybody try and con the Saudi prince. I'd have to...
It's almost like...it's all vaporware...because they don't yet have funding...and can't purchase rides yet...and that this project has a looooooooong way to go before opening.
