Theme park soundtracks that get stuck in your head

Chiapas will always be my favourite theme park soundtrack, especially the part from the backwards disco tunnel. As for the UK it would have to be the theme for Haunted house Monster Party at Legoland.

Are the seats on Colossus particularly small?

I have a height related issue with those trains. Due to the lack of leg space I usually struggle to bring the restraints down as they hit my thighs before they lock. Seems to be a common thing with the older Intamin trains as I experienced the same thing on EGF and Goliath.

    Obscure special effects

The Yeti animatronic from Expedition Everest. Its been at least a decade since it was operational, and unfortunately it looks very unlikely that it'll ever work again.

Fantasy Island (UK) | Spinning Racer | Maurer Spinning Coaster | 2021

With this coaster replacing Ice Mountain hopefully it'll make the trip down to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland like its former did. Would make getting the cred a lot easier for us in the south!

Why do smaller theme parks in the UK seem to struggle more than similarly sized equivalents abroad?

I don't think the Merlin annual pass has helped the smaller parks in the UK. Why pay for entry to multiple independent parks and attractions when some of the best ones in the country can be accessed for a monthly payment. The UK is also a very small country, it doesn't take long to get to any...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

There's been rumours for a while that some of their larger rides would removed before the 2021 season. With the removal of G force, Pandemonium and Apocalypse I wonder if we'll hear something about Shockwave soon. Without the other thrill attractions to support it the coaster feels very...

Desktop PC tips for Planet Coaster?

Looking at some screenshots of your park I'd suggest reducing the amount of trees and rocks you're using. These pieces can quickly add up causing a large FPS decrease. Also if you've let people into your park I'd recommend limiting guest numbers to around 2k.

    World's Loudest Coaster?

Egg-Spress at Pleasure wood Hills. It sounds like the wheels haven't been replaced since it was installed in 1986.

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

After seeing the wall in person today I can happily say I'm a fan of the wall. It's a good wall.

    Your Least Common Opinion?

Silver Star is better than Expedition GeForce. Being 6ft 4 I found the Expedition GeForce restraints ridiculously uncomfortable. B&M trains are so much nicer for someone of my size.

A park with the best and worst coaster in one!

I'd go with Walibi Holland. Untamed is a fantastic coaster while Condor is the worst thing I've ever ridden.

    Coaster Count / Credits

Like most things it's down to your personal opinion, its only embarrassing if you find it embarrassing. More often than not the people who operate these smaller coasters are understanding of enthusiasts and their love of a Wacky Worm. I've ridden 116 coaster in the UK (most of which could be...

What UK Parks are "Worth It?"

Alongside the mentioned parks like Towers, Pleasure Beach and Thorpe I'd highly recommend a trip down to Paultons. Its the best UK family park by far and Tornado Springs is looking fantastic. Plus if you've got time in the afternoon you could always head over to Portsmouth for a few Pier creds...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

I've spent the day at Thorpe but unfortunately I was left feeling disappointed by the experience. In some areas they've done very well, there are plenty of hand sanitisers around the park and clear signage explaining the procedures they've put in place. The retail areas were also well looked...

First park you’ll be going to

My first park will most likely be Thorpe, but as soon as we get the all clear to travel again I'll be straight off to Energylandia and Legendia!

LEGOLAND Windsor | Duplo Dino Coaster | Mack Oval

We got a ride on it today. Large trains, comfortable restraints and bold, colourful theming. Makes it the perfect coaster for young kids. Only downside is how quickly picks up a long queue.
