    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Oh come on; everyone wants a vaccine available as soon as possible. I was just expressing concern that a pre-election announcement might benefit the idiot-in-charge who politicized the virus in the first place.

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

No it won't, but I doubt that'll stop The Orange One crowing "told you so, vaccine incoming".

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

If it's going to happen, please let it be "end of next month" rather than "end of this month". We really don't want anything that might give a last-minute boost to Trump's campaign.

Longest walkway to a station you have experienced?

Haven't been on Zadra, but that video makes it look like a clear front-runner! The line for Helix involves an unnecessary amount of climbing up and down stairs. And I seem to recall the line for New Texas Giant involved walking through virtually the entire structure.

    Cocktails

The Caesar is mostly a Canadian thang - I believe it's the most popular cocktail in Canada. You can get clamato juice from Ocado. Good shout on the Michelada - must try that some time!

    Lightning Rod Status

As already pointed out, it seems the latest problems aren't launch related. But if they were, would anyone really miss the launch if it were replaced with a chain lift? It's pretty underwhelming and I don't think it adds much to the ride.

    Cocktails

Nice topic! I do enjoy a cocktail or three. ...or even better, a Caesar, with clamato juice instead of tomato juice. Yes to worcestershire sauce but also Tabasco, a squirt of fresh lemon juice and salt and black pepper. Not a celery fan so I'll have pickled green beans as a garnish instead, ta...

    What Is Your Dream Vehicle?

Ha! Well remembered, Howie 😀 No, still got the Dolomite. Luckily I've got a double garage. In fact, one of the rather nerdy reasons I've always quite fancied an SS1 is that it was from the same designer as the Dolomite - an Italian chap called Giovanni Michelotti, who also designed a bunch of...

    Rank the RMCs

Kind of answered the question for me right there! It's brilliant fun, really nippy and in a gorgeous location. Plus, unlike most of the other RMCs it obviously feels and rides like a woodie which elevates it above the steel ones for me. (Not that I've ridden Steel Vengeance yet, which I suspect...

    What Is Your Dream Vehicle?

I quite like older cars and last summer I managed to pick up one of my dream cars on an eBay auction. A 1987 Reliant Scimitar SS1. Ugly little thing, eh? It does look better in the flesh, mind. It was a bit of a disaster for the soon-to-be-defunct Reliant company, mainly due to its looks...

Mopping up UK credits- Great Yarmouth, PWH, Oakwood, Brean, West Midlands and more

I honestly thought I was going to fall over with dizziness while climbing out of the tub at the end. It's quite a ride.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s wooden coasters: what would you do with them?

It's a strange kind of cut-off point though. The mouse's alterations were made less than a decade after it opened and by the time it was torn down those alterations were 50 years old. Given its uniqueness I'd have thought that it would have qualified on that basis. Quite possibly I guess. Were...

Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s wooden coasters: what would you do with them?

It is quite strange isn't it? The WIld Mouse was refused listed status because of the substantial alterations made in the 1960s, but I can't find any mention of Nickelodeon Streak having undergone similar changes. And according to the listing notice for Big Dipper, it was substantially altered...

Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s wooden coasters: what would you do with them?

Is Nickelodeon Streak actually listed? A quick search would suggest that only the other three are.

    Rank the RMCs

Thing is, there isn't really an RMC that'll win a beauty contest, what with ugly steel beams poking out at awkward angles and such. They tend to have a shabby industrial look to them. Not that it matters in the slightest of course, because...

    Roller Coaster Day 2020 Survey

This is clearly a voter suppression fake news lamestream media poll. I mean, c'mon, somebody voted for South America as the best coaster continent.
