    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

So, why haven't the Govt come out and dictated this? Isnt the half-price vouchers to help the consumer, but it is optional whether a company accepts them? Surely this scheme is to encourage spending. The VAT cut has very much been announced as being up to the company.

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Although they continue to heavily push 'pre-booking essential' thus getting people to book online. Considering parks have haemorrhaged money the last few months and are now limited with their capacity, I wouldn't blame them at all to keep the 15%. If they are struggling to get customers into...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

I can't envisage the Parks passing the 15% saving on, especially whilst they are working to limited capacities. Can you also imagine 6 months time when the GP have forgotten why there was a price decrease and suddenly entry goes up 15% overnight! If they pass the saving on, it might show...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

There is quite a lot of sense in this post however... The 80% Govt are paying is in the assumption the staff are not working at all. Parks with animals will still be shelling out full wages for staffing and vet bills, animal feed etc. Somebody shared a post on Facebook from Twinlakes asking...

    Removal of G-Force at Drayton Manor (2005 - 2018)

Still not sold? In the current theme park climate I can see it sitting around and rusting aka Knightmare

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

I am afraid i tend to agree. If the Parks are back open by the beginning of July, I will be amazed. I do think that this might be it for some Parks, one 'major' park in particular. Govt funding will help with staff costs but not much else in the grand scheme of things. Anyone in the industry...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Good! The Govt need to stop faffing and be more decisive. I am sure the Parks who are open are awaiting this decision and then can claim insurance and any other income protection policies they have as they will have been 'forced' to close.

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

I suspect they are waiting to be forced. Unfortunately, the 'wooly' government announcement yesterday puts a lot of uncertainty on the leisure industry. I have read that they will only be able to claim insurance if forced to close. I also cant understand how a predominantly outdoor themepark...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

They will lose money... End of. Not open = no income. However there will still be wages to pay and in some theme parks significant debt interest which wont be going away any time soon.

Paultons Park | Tornado Springs | New Area 2021

Literally the whole area is based on a town along a main road. What would tou use other than tarmac to depict 'Route 83' highway?

Paultons Park | Tornado Springs | New Area 2021

Looks amazing. With the time still left before opening I reckon it will easily be one of the best themed areas in the UK. All original aswell.

Flamingo Land | Unknown | Intamin 10 Inversion Coaster

Wouldn't surprise me at all. RCS work to very tight schedules and the fact they were pouring concrete and placing footers whilst RCS were onsite meant one issue or delay would put RCS back a lot.
