    Energylandia | Abyssus | Vekoma Shockwave+

I have not experienced a stall brake yet, but it looks so out of place for me. It kills the dynamic, which should reach its peak after the launch, and it just feels like it slows down the train too much. Luckily, Abyssus is not using 4 brakes, but only 2, so they might be more intended as a trim...

    Energylandia | Abyssus | Vekoma Shockwave+

You forgot the Vekoma Launch coaster before you enter the tunnel ;-) Here is an offride of another new gen Vekoma LSM coaster - I really hope that Abyssus will have a quicker pacing than this one, it looks quite sluggish to me.

    Energylandia | Abyssus | Vekoma Shockwave+

Yeah, that can happen, given the pace Energylandia builds new rides :) Still wondering if they will throw in a Kiddie coaster just for good measures. The 20 needs to done ;-)

    Milestone Coasters in Your Count

In the end, it all depends on your own preferences and your expectations. I prefer low expectations, as positive suprises are always welcome. I was hyped for Nemesis as everyone calls it one of the most intense coasters out there, and was deeply disappointed. The Helix before the the Zero-G is...

    Energylandia's Future Additions

A friend of mine asked them on Facebook a while ago, and they answered that the annual passes will be extended, but provided no further details.

Maybe it's me being tall, but the OSTRs feel way more restrictive than the Vests. The vests just touch my body, while the OSTRs push heavily on my shoulders, eliminating nearly every freedom of movement I could have.

Why don't US-Parks purchase the new Gen Vekomas?

Please wait until I have done them for the credit, so I can agree with you :-)

Coronavirus: Economic impact on theme parks in 2020.

We are on the down turn, but the amount of deaths is still comparable to the ones from March. We have to keep the infection. The issue with those deaths is, that they only show death WITH Covid 19, not only the ones caused by it. Here are some raw numbers, which do not take the cause of death...

I haven't done a SR II with those vests, but I know that I won't like them, as the one I did just used a lap bar. I think we can all agree that Lap-bar > other restraints

Can someone explain to me why most people prefer OTSR? Sure, the vests have the habit to close down to a certain point, but I never thought of it as a big problem. I believe some rides do lock them after leaving the station, so that would not be an issue for every ride. But OTSRs are really...

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster

The issue with the launch is, that we have no exact data as the launch track is not visible from the outside (trust me, I tried the legal ways). You might be able to see it if you start climbing, but I don't have to tell you why you should not even think about that. So my estimate is just based...

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster

Even though I tried to scale down the picture of the gondola, it’s still to large for this forum... sorry 😐 It does not look new and cleaned at all places, but I will check the pictures once I am back home. Fun fact: One train seems to have stopped ok Launch 2 while testing. Took them 20 minutes...

    Correct way to pronounce "Candymonium"

I know that english can have quite crazy pronounciations, but even I as a foreigner know how to pronounce "candy". You don't ask for "Canda" instead of "Candy", do you?

Coronavirus: Economic impact on theme parks in 2020.

German Zoos have already opened and implemented different measures to control the crouds. Some use tickets with time slots (which does not make sense in my opinion, as you do not know if the people are actually leaving on time), dated tickets (Usually, people only spend have a day in a zoo, so...

Coronavirus: Economic impact on theme parks in 2020.

The problem with virtual queues is, that you need the space in other areas of your park. This works great for larger parks like Alton Towers, Europapark, Efteling or Energylandia, but the smaller ones like Drayton Manor, Thorpe Park or Phantasialand do not have much space outside of the...

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster

On the other hand, it said "discount in the hotels" and not "discount in the hotels Matamba & Ling Bao" - in the latter case, it would not be a problem to exclude the new one. But as far as I know german law, if it says "the hotels", it means all hotels.

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster

Hotels are not allowed to open prior to the 21th of May, so a immediate opening is unlikely in my opinion. In addition, I believe they are adding the days missed on the annual passes, which would cause some passes with hotel discount being valid on opening day. (If you are nor familiar with the...

    Tripsdrill | Hals-Über-Kopf & Volldampf | Vekoma STC & Family Boomerang Coaster

I believe so, a limitations of guests per space would not be an issue for Tripsdrill and Europapark, as they are quite spacious. Let's hope they are allowed to open in June.

    Tripsdrill | Hals-Über-Kopf & Volldampf | Vekoma STC & Family Boomerang Coaster

A little update (as this might be interesting for most people, I am making a double posting here): As the states in Germany have different rules for reopening measures, Tripsdrill amusement park will not be able to open until June 1st. Same goes for Europa park, as they are both located in...

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster

Phantasialand is allowed to open again from May, 11th. I don't know if they will, as they are very limited in space and might have to cut their capacity too much, depending on the regulations for an opening.
