Finnishing up Finland - Part 2: Linnanmaki

Taiga can also be a girl's first name in Finland. Some lucky people could say they had a coaster named after them. ? The word is also very close to another Finnish word "taika", which translates as "magic". In the advertising campaign Linnanmäki used a wordplay "ilmassa on Taigaa" which would...

Does age increase propensity to grey outs?

I may be too young to comment on aging, but I've always had a bit low blood pressure and sometimes just standing up too quickly can make me grey out, especially in the morning. Rides that accelerate a lot tend to cause that to me sometimes, I suppose it's harmless but a bit annoying. Maybe your...

What spinning ride is the most intense?

HUSS Booster. A bit too much for me to be honest, but probably a dream ride for those who really love spinning. I've even tried a human gyroscope and it wasn't as dizzying as Booster.

Acceptable to pressure a reluctant rider?

I'll try my best to be supportive if someone is a little bit hesitant, but I don't really see the point on pressuring if they're absolutely sure they don't want to. More than once I've seen kids come out from drop tower rides etc. crying, it just makes me feel bad for them.

Yeah, it surprised me as well. Of course the reason behind it could've been something else than weather related, but to me it looked liked it as they let people ride the front seat again when the rain stopped. I just thought it's because the accelerations in rain would've been uncomfortable for...

Linnanmäki | Taiga | Intamin LSM Launch Coaster

I rode Taiga first time on last Sunday, needless to say it was an amazing ride. It's pure action from start to finish, no boring sections, no nonsense. Some have commented the first part of the ride being a bit slow but I personally didn't find it that way. Maybe the first inversion shocked me...

What was your first coaster with an inversion?

Intamin suspended coaster called Tornado at Särkänniemi amusement park, year was 2007 and I was around 12 years old back then. Good memories, and I still think it's a pretty decent ride. My second coaster was Zamperla's Volare (Trombi) though, that one I'd rather like to forget.
