ENSO; “Icon with a twist” opening at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in 2022

Icon's never had more than a 15-20 minute wait when I've gone so I doubt the capacity will have too much of an effect. It'll be a shame if its an upcharge but I couldn't blame them. I'd gladly pay the fee at least once a trip for a RTH-lite experience.

    CWOA | Project Amazon | B&M Wing Coaster (Jumanji Land?)| 2023

I always thought the 1.4m height restriction was more of a form of branding. 1.4m means its a "major" coaster that you'll want to challenge yourself by riding, and the more 1.4m rides inflates the value of the park to guests. Changing the restriction of TWD was completely arbitrary when nothing...

The Rig - A roller coaster on an offshore oil rig?

I have next to no confidence that this will ever be built.... But God I hope it does, that looks incredible!

    Your Favorite Flat Ride?

Apocalypse at Drayton Manor (please please don't sell!), or the KMG XXL at winter wonderland when excluding drop towers. Both are just such a rush.

Stealth vs Oblivion; which of the UK’s one-trick coasters do you prefer?

Stealth any day of the week. As everyone has already said, the launch is just insane, even when compared to other hydraulic launches its noticeably more forceful. The top hat matches the intensity with the crushing positives and airtime, and the bunny gill is great fun. The launch is...

Most Painful Rollercoasters & Flat rides

Grand National is rough as hell but nowhere near as bad as Big Dipper. That thing is a health hazard.

Theme park soundtracks that get stuck in your head

Hex's soundtrack is absolutely stellar. The ride wouldn't work nearly as well as it does without it:

    Alton towers 10/08/21 - A dismal birthday

We went to AT for my dads birthday as its been a while, he wanted to reride Nemesis & try out Wicker Man. We hoped that a midweek day would offset the summer crowds slightly as the parents would still be at work... this was a mistake. The park was open 10-7 which was a nice surprise as we were...

S&S Axis Coaster: Where and When?

There's no evidence whatsoever, but if its a European park then Alton towers. They're due a coaster in the next couple of years; merlin will have a legitimate world first and secret weapon to market with; S&S generally seems to have a mid-tier price range which would allow merlin to theme it out...

Best tower ride in UK 2021?

Apocalypse any day. Detonator might have a more forceful drop but doesn't compare to the fear from the tilting drops. Ice blast is a pleasant 3rd imo.

Why has the UK seemingly been unable to top Nemesis?

It will definitely be beaten eventually. As great as the ride is, we have evidence that it can be beaten, there have been countless rides that (are widely agreed to) top it (including Smiler imo). Its just a matter of investing a lot of money into a ride that does not capture the widest...

    WTF Merlin?

So 7 bits of Acrylic count as immersion themeing now? The scaffolding queue fence is a nice touch too.

If you owned the UK’s 4 Merlin theme parks, what would you do to each of them?

This got a bit out of hand but still really fun to think about! Thorpe Park [Aim: Replace outdated rides, improve overall value and rework Thorpe into a strictly thrill park for older families, teens & adults] Yeah... I would add a LOT here. All of this is incredibly unrealistic but I tried to...

Kent, England | The London Resort | Entertainment Complex

Why even bother posting on the thread if you're just going to put people down for being optimistic when a project has made genuine progress?
