No it's definitely a ride system of some kind. They revealed concept art of the vehicles today too.

I happily stand corrected! I didn't see the ride vehicle anywhere, it looks fab and is totally a trackless one.

Last Sunday (26th) was the anniversary of the fire; while they did not manage to meet their optimistic opening date (they finally officially announced the delay on social media on the 22nd) its still remarkable how far they've come on with rebuilding anyway.
EP-Fans-info shared some looks at the site as it currently stands.

Its also been announced that Jora Vision are working with Mack Solutions to create Snorri Touren; the new dark ride which will open in the area's basement in Autumn.
Europa-Park and Jora Vision join forces to develop Snorri Dark Ride

Europa-Park, Europe’s 2nd largest theme park, has appointed design and build company Jora Vision, specialised in immersive experiences and attractions, to develop a new exciting dark ride. The new ride, named “Snorri Touren”, will be created in the basement of the re-built and soon to open Scandinavian area of the park and is based on the story of the mythical world of Rulantica, developed by the design team of Mack Solutions.

Robin van der Want, Project Development Director at Jora Vision explains. “The last couple of years we have created several amazing dark rides, such as the “Thea” awarded Bazyliszek in Poland and the Raving Rabbits Time Machine in Futuroscope. When Mack Solutions reached out to us about creating a dark ride based on the character Snorri, we were very excited. Not only did we get the chance to work together with the creative talents of Mack Solutions, Mack Animation and Mack Rides, but we were given the trust to translate their creative vision into a full concept design and execute the full project from schematic design up to the production of show sets.”

Patrick Marx, Project Manager at Mack Solutions continues: “The new to build Scandinavian area was perfect to integrate the theme of Rulantica, since the Nordic Scandinavian style fits with our story of Rulantica. In our story, the fishermen who live in this village have netted Rulantica artefacts and they found Snorri in a barrel. A new friendship grew with the villagers and Snorri found his home in the basement of one of the houses in the Scandinavian area.”

Simeon van Tellingen, Creative Director at Jora Vision adds: “From the basement Snorri has decided to set up his own travel agency. Boarding a patch together rubber boat, a custom designed vehicle we designed for Mack Rides, the visitors are mysteriously transported to Rulantica to explore its mystifying realms. What we love about this attraction is the combination of classic dark ride techniques, such as animatronics and elaborate show sets with on the other side state-of-the-art technology such as integrated media, lighting and yet to reveal special effects. Although it is designed to “wow” families with young children, it will definitely entertain guests of all ages.”

Patrick Marx continues: “The creative chemistry with Jora Vision has been superb, we are confident that they are the right partner for this project to bring the story to life and develop it further into a wondrous ride.”

Jan Maarten de Raad, CEO at Jora Vision concludes: “The collaboration with Europa Park is great, together we form a dream team. I am sure that the passion of our joint adventure will come back into the overall experience and guest appreciation!”

“Snorri Touren” is currently in production and is expected to open late 2019.

Scandinavia should be reopening within the next 2 weeks from what I've heard. But so far the park's official line is just it will be during June.
Piraten in Batavia is expected to be finished for about mid 2020.
Anything on if the new coaster is still expected by 2021 or it's been delayed further?

Edit: Found my answer in another thread. "Within the next five years" doesn't sound too promising, but I understand they had more urgent areas to deal with for obvious reasons.

I wouldn't expect a new coaster until at least 2022 now tbh.
The park has rebuilt a entire area this year as well as a fairly large looking hotel and waterpark.
Pirates in Batvia will probably keep the park busy for the whole of next year too.

2021 is possible but honestly i wouldn't blame them if 2021 was a small year.

I was at the park yesterday, when the area was open, and today, when it was closed for the first part of the day and filled with press for the official opening ceremony. There were singers and dancers and amazing reindeer. When it reopened for the public, there was still red carpet through the town. It looks great in general.

The new Snorri Touren dark ride which will be underneath the rebuilt and newly reopened Scandinavian area will open on the 23rd November 2019.

At EAS today a ride vehicle was displayed.

The ride system was revealed to be a tracked ride however it will have an unique turntable system which sends vehicles into multimedia domes with a motion base inside for a short simulator like immersive experience. Also makes for a longer ride experience with the small footprint they have to work with.
