With the announcement of the three Fantawild Cultural Heritage Parks it seems the Chinese park chains are starting to branch out from the traditional theme park model and create a more diverse portfolio. This trend continues with OCT, creators of the Happy Valley chain of parks and Liuzhou’s planned OCT Cultural And Scientific Experience.

The park appears to be less of a thrill rides park and focuses more on the sciences but with a few rides thrown in for good measure. The stunning artwork below shows off some of the parks attractions and if you look carefully there appears to be a launched coaster as well.

Included below is a Google Earth image which shows of the area the park is due to be built in (taken in 2013), The park is due to be open in 2015 so I would expect there to be construction by now but without people on the ground it’s difficult to tell. Anyway take a look at the concept art I’ll do some further digging.

Re: Liuzhou OCT Cultural And Scientific Experience Concept A

Looks like this is going ahead as we have construction :)
Not much yet. But one for those crazy mud enthusiasts out there.

Along with this newer piece of concept art

Looks like a god awful render of a Mega lite to me. OCT have history with mega lites as they currently own 2 at Happy Valley in Shanghai and Chengdu so certainly a possible ride for this park.

Re: Liuzhou OCT Cultural And Scientific Experience

I must have missed this first time round but it looks great. Another park in southern China and another Megalite in the world both make me very happy.

Re: Liuzhou OCT Cultural And Scientific Experience

Looks like the person who made the render has never been on a coaster him-/herself. I mean, sure, it follows the layout rather well, but there's no banking anywhere. As a result, that first turn looks hilariously painful.

Re: Liuzhou OCT Cultural And Scientific Experience

A much better rendering has now shown up with a clearer view of the mega lite on the right.

The Golden Horse Mine Train is now up although no theming yet. But no sign of the Intamin yet I'm afraid.

Footers are now going in for the Intamin Mega-Lite. Imagine vertical construction will be soon.

Always good to see more of these in the world.

No idea what this ride is but it has a large indoor section and a short outdoor section too. Looks like it may be water based.

Things have got weirder as another coaster has appeared on site. Its clearly a launched coaster and Chinese built at that.
There are indoor and outdoor sections and the track looks pretty wide.
I suspect a Moto Coaster but its just a wild guess

Aren't those supports for the lift hill? With the incline on the left side and the drop on the right, making a right-hand turn?
Or are those supports for the Intamin?

Anyway, thanks for the pictures. :)

^ Afraid not. Thats the first hill but not a lift hill.
This shows the launch coaster a bit better even though the pic is a little older. You can see the launch track leading into the supports.
Liu1.jpg

There's a winch of some kind on site too. possibly for the launch. Liu3.jpg
The track seems to vanish into a hole in the floor after the brakes.
Liu4.jpg

The Mine Train is getting some pretty extensive themeing now too.

A nice and shiny almost complete Mega Lite. In other news it appears the park name may have been changed to the easier to handle Visionland. At least thats whats written at the top of the launch tower that's just gone up on site.

So it turns out the weird launch coaster is some kind of strange Test Track knock off.
I cant really get my head round how they think this works but its interesting
Note: if a mod wouldn't mind changing the topic name? as the park is now called Visionland (Which is a lot easier to say :) )

How... bizarre! I can't help but feel like that'll be a maintenance nightmare - having to ensure the track structure is sound so as to avoid the train crashing into it! Interestingly, this'll be a cred though? I've always assumed Test Track works a bit like a glorified Scalextric? "Only in China!"

Done. ;)
