The Mars volta - Deloused In The Comatorium

This CD is stoner rock/ progressive/ experimental at it's finest. The songs are powerful, spacey, and the CD even made it onto a list of 1001 albums to listen to before you die

The Chemical Brothers - We Are The Night

Just thought I'd check out their new stuff after seeing their mind blowing Glastonbury set, and yes, it's brilliant! It flows brilliantly and is great fun with some interesting collaborations with The Klaxons and Willy Mason. I'm not really sure what else to say, its just a great new album, check it out.

What?! You're kidding right?! We Are The Night, in comparison to their other albums, is absolute tosh! There are a few good songs like All Rights Reserved and Do It Again is alright as well, but a lot of it just doesn't have that wow factor that their older stuff had. If you want a real Chemical Brother album, choose Come With Us or Dig Your Own Hole.

Robyn - With Every Heartbeat

Been listening to this for like a week, it has to be the tune of 2007!!! It's awesome, heard it loads in nights out too. Her voice is beautiful, even when she talks...makes you melt.

 I love that song! Her voice doesn't suit the way she looks though, it's strange, her voice is really nice though, not saying she's ugly! Oh I'm gonna shut up now.

^Yeah, that's been sat in my car as my spare CD when my iPod runs flat for ages. Its better than A Crow Left of the Murder was. The two parts of Earth to Bella are great too, its a good return to form. Its still no Morning View or Make Yourself though.

Four Year Strong- Rise or Die Trying

This band is AWESOME. I can't really quite describe them. Along the lines of All Time Low, Valencia, Cartel, Hit the Lights, Say Anything etc. but with some screaming and some metal breakdowns. It works. Really well.

Listen to some of them here: www.myspace.com/fouryearstrong

Whitey (also known as Nathan Whitey), his song "A Walk in The Dark" features in the VO5 advert with the Chinese school.

The debut album is called "The Light at The End of the Tunnel Is a Train" (pretty hefty title I know) and it is BLOODY BRILLIANT!! Its a very odd mix with styles ranging from LCD Soundsystem to Death From Above 1979 (who I also recommend). His new album is out this Autumn and theres samples on his Myspace.

Newton Faulkner, I've been meaning to get his album for a while now.

He's obsessed with Spongebob Squarepants. :?

This is his single Dream Catch Me:

Also, he does a wicked cover of Teardrop by Massive Attack.

Kongos

The band is 4 members all realted to the south african singer John Kongos. Their music is diffrent and sounds similar to The Strokes. THe indie sounds definatly suits them and its very interesting to hear a band that uses an accordian from time to time.

Bat For Lashes - Fur And Gold

I've been meaning to get this for ages, it's been one of the nominations for the Mercury Music Prize.

The albums very dark, but very relaxing and Natasha's voice is spooky, but beautiful. It has a kinda, fairytale/tribal atmosphere about it, and great for when you just wanna escape. In an interview i saw, she said on the first track of the album, she just got a long cable for her mic, and ran out into the middle of a woodland in the rain and just belted out the vocals, and thats what was used for the album (you can hear the rain if ya got headphones), it's that kinda album, and probably worth a look if like artists like as Björk.

This is the music video for the single "What's A Girl To Do". Reminds me of Donnie Darko really.
