Most Parks You’ve Done in One Road Trip?

For next summer I’m planning a trip of the U.S. Midwest that will include nine parks (Lakemont Park, Idlewild, Kennywood, Lake Conneaut, Waldameer, Cedar Point, Kings Island, Kentucky Kingdom, Holiday World). For me, that’s a marathon for a single trip, but I realize that that’s nothing compared to some epic road trips some forumers have probably taken on.

So what is the largest number of parks you’ve ever hit on a single road trip (on one continuous trip, without returning home or to long-term lodgings, and with the trip exclusively or almost exclusively devoted to amusement parks), and what were the parks?

Florida where I hit 8 theme parks and 4 water parks. Such a horrendously basic answer. Outside of that my highest is two which I've managed in Sweden (Liseberg and Kolmarden) and in Germany (Europa Park and Holiday Park).

Ugh. Is there no way for me to fix the typo in the title?
Yup. ;)

The most I've done was the 2010 USA Live and the add-ons we did before and after. That was:
Six Flags Great Adventure
Dorney Park + Knoebels
Kings Island
Holiday World
Worlds of Fun
Silver Dollar City
Six Flags St Louis
Indiana Beach
Cedar Point
Kennywood + Waldameer
Lakemont Park
Six Flags New England + Lake Compounce
Rye Playland Park + Coney Island Parks

So that was 13 consecutive days, with 17 different parks. Honestly, I don't really see myself ever doing a trip quite like that again. It was excellent, but was very intense and these days I prefer taking it a bit slower and doing some "non-park" stuff along the way too.

Thanks for the typo fix.

I know what you mean about enjoying a slower pace. I mean, I get anxious just seeing that you did Dorney and Knoebels, and SFNE and Compounce in one day. :D

Last summer I did Dorney, Hershey, and Knoebels in three days and THAT felt epic to me. :p I’m excited about doing nine parks in a row next summmer, but that’ll include two days at CP and two at KI, so at least it won’t feel frenetic all the way through.

Anyway, 17 — you hold the title so far. :p

Two trips of 11 this year, just beaten by the most recent trip to China:
Wiener Prater
An Alpine + Beijing Shijingshan
Happy Valley Beijing + Sun Park
Happy Valley Tianjin
Oriental Heritage Jinan
Fantawild Adventure + Dreamland Zhengzhou
Happy Valley Wuhan
Hefei Wanda
The tourist centre of Oriental Heritage Wuhu in a storm
Happy Valley Shanghai + People's Park
Century Park

13 in 13 days. 15 at a stretch. Should have been 17-18 without weather spite.

America would obviously be the best place to break that one day, just never get round to it.

The low number of 7 for me - Plopsaland, Bellewaerde, Walibi Belgium, Phantasialand, Toverland, Efteling and Bobbejaanland. Still too basic to have gone to America.

Kind of a basic response here, but five on my Great Lakes region trip this past summer. Got SFGAm, Timber Falls, Mt. Olympus, Nickelodeon Universe, and Valleyfair. Would have been my big PA coaster trip back in 2015 but I cut two parks off because Lakemont was closed and DelGrosso's wasn't worth the extra time out of the way for some crappy +1s alone.

I did the trip with Ben, but tagged a few parks on before and after:

Before:
SFGAdv
SFGAm
Little A-Merrick-A
Adventureland
Worlds of Fun
Elitch Gardens
Lagoon
Lakeside Park
Cliff's Amusement Park
Wonderland Amusement Park
Frontier City

Casino Pier
Steel Pier
Gillian's Wonderland Pier

La Ronde
Coney Island

It was exhausting. And La Ronde almost put me off theme parks permanently.

I’m counting 45 parks in one trip. That was all without a break?

Impressive stuff. Part of me thinks I could just quit my job and travel to amusement parks and national parks in the U.S. and around the world, and happily keep it up much longer than 99% of the population.

I think what wears me out the most on these smaller trips, though, is the frenetic pace, especially when I feel I want to maximize my time at each park (get all the credits, and marathon the best ones, and check out the other rides and the general charm of the park, and get some nice meals, etc.), but I know I only have one day, so I better get there before opening and stay till closing but still get to my hotel on time and leave early enough the next morning to get to the next park before opening and ......

So what were the seven in one day?
haha, it was LC, Quassy, Rye Playland, Deno, Astroland, Bowcraft, Clementon (3 states of parks... and I was coming from Massachusetts)
I've also done Great Adventure, Casino Pier, Funtown Pier, and Steel Pier in a day (4 parks) and Morey's, Playland's Castaway Cove, Gillian's Wonderland Pier, Steel Pier, and Blackbeard's Cave in the same day (5 parks)

I get tired just reading that. The first one is the most mind-boggling— not just because the number is higher, but because it is, as you say, across three states and four different areas (LC/Quassy, Rye, Coney, and Jersey). Just the traveling time (distance and tri-state traffic) alone should have made that run very difficult to fit in.
