Thought I'd create a thread for all the park news to come out of this years D23, Christmas for Disney fans.

Last night was a media preview of the actual Parks pavilion where some interesting bits and pieces are being shown off.

As many of you know, this weekend’s D23 Expo 2019 will showcase dozens of exclusive reveals and announcements for Disney parks and resorts across the globe. And to kick things off, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Bob Chapek shared exciting news from Anaheim tonight as a preview of what’s to come this weekend!

An all-new Star Wars vacation experience is coming to Walt Disney World Resort!


Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be a new, first-of-its-kind vacation experience where guests will check in for a two-night adventure aboard a glamorous starship. Once onboard, guests will interact with characters and become active participants in stories that unfold around them on their galactic journey.


Inside the Disney Parks “Imagining Tomorrow, Today” pavilion at D23 Expo, visitors will be able to see a new model and incredible visuals of the starcruiser – called the Halcyon.

Also at Walt Disney World Resort, we’ve got big plans for our multi-year transformation of Epcot, with new experiences that will make the park more Disney, more family, more timeless and more relevant to the millions of guests who visit each year.

The reinvention of Epcot will include Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana.” This first-ever attraction based on the Walt Disney Animation Studios hit film, “Moana,” will let guests interact with magical, living water in a beautiful and inspiring setting.

And this October, guests will be able to visualize all of the exciting plans for Epcot at a new experience center in the Odyssey Events Pavilion, called Walt Disney Imagineering presents the Epcot Experience. Inside this first-of-its-kind offering within a Disney park, guests will discover engaging and interactive exhibits that allow you to step inside the relentless innovation, energy and excitement and see some never-before-revealed details driving the future of Epcot all throughout this unprecedented period of transformation.

At Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Paris, we’ve already shared updates that we’re building immersive Super Hero themed lands. Today, we’re thrilled to announce these fantastic lands will be called Avengers Campus.


When guests visit Avengers Campus, they will become part of an interconnected, global story that spans from California to Paris to Hong Kong with the Avengers recruiting new extraordinary people to join them.


Inside our pavilion at D23 Expo, guests will be able to see an in-story experience where they’ll learn why the Avengers are building these campuses. And on Sunday, we’ll share more details about what our guests will be able to experience when they open.


The pavilion will also feature many of the attractions and lands coming to our sites around the world including TRON Lightcycle Run coming to Magic Kingdom Park, as well as additional expansions in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Here’s a quick look inside:

This was the feed I was using and it died about half way so had to switch. Bert (Dick Van Dyke - this censors on other forums lol) making an appearance literally broke the internet for the whole convention, every stream died, so that was fun.

I'll write up a post highlighting all the nice new images they threw our way.

Well overall I don't think there really any surprises and there was a lot of time used up by really lame announcements. I'll just summarise the more interesting bits that were shown off.


Disneyland (CA) - New daytime parade starting next Spring.

Soundtrack written by Todrick Hall and called Magic Happens.
They performed the new song which didn't seem too interesting. New parade floats look fab...

Shanghai Disneyland - Re-confirmation of new land themed to Zootopia. Still no real details outside the big E-ticket featuring all the characters from the film.


Hong Kong Disneyland - New castle name unveiled as "Castle of Magical Dreams". Will incorporate most of the Disney Princesses and their recognisable things like Snow White's Apple.

Frozen area confirmed to have a coaster. Name and new concept art shown off. Will be called Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs. Looks cute.

Avengers Campus - California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios Paris

A few details on the Spider-Man ride. You'll be able to "shoot" web just like Spidey. There's a little bot that he created that have escaped the lab and are causing carnage.

A Doctor Strange show/meet was confirmed for Cali. Pym's Test Kitchen confirmed for both parks with the first meet and greet location with Ant-Man and the Wasp.

A Phase 2 for California was unveiled containing a large E-ticket Avengers dark ride. You'll get to ride a Quinjet to visit Wakanda where a big battle occurs.

EPCOT

This is where all the news was. Guardians coaster has a name! - Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. They confirmed the launch will be backwards.

The park is now being split into 4 "neighbourhoods". World Showcase, World Nature, World Celebration and World Discovery.

* A new Moana-inspired walkthrough all to do with water will lead up to the Sea Pavilion in World Nature.
* World Celebration will have a new Walt statue and new raised platform which can hold events and has a roof garden with views of the lake.
* New upgraded films were confirmed to be opening in Jan 2020 for Canada, China and a Beauty and the Beast singalong for France.
* Ratatouille confirmed for next Summer.
* New Play pavilion for World Discovery which looks like it'll have a lot of interactive things to do.
* New Space 220 is opening soon and will have a "space lift" that will take you to the restaurant 220 miles up in Space with views of Earth.
* New Mary Poppins attraction being added to UK pavilion. No details on this. There have been rumours that it's a carousel but it's still unclear and with no clear timeline it might be a while before we hear anything else.
* Spaceship Earth is being revamped with new narration and story elements.
* Major new night time show Harmonious will take over at some point next year.

Other
* The last major announcement was all to do with the Cruise Line. They've named the new ship the Disney Wish. They've got a new island in the Bahamas for a stop-off. Seems like early days.
* A huge amount of time was spent discussing new dedicated Disney tat areas being added to Target stores. Yay?
