Theme Park Worldwide filmed this interesting video showcasing testing from various angles yesterday:
They did 3 test runs yesterday. I don’t know if it’s just me, but it already seemed to be running a bit faster even on that 4th test run!
Here’s a reverse POV courtesy of ElToroRyan:
I’m always hesitant to judge a ride’s smoothness based on POVs, but from that video, it definitely looks a bit rattly and looks to have some surprisingly jolty moments. There looks to be quite a bad jolt towards the end in particular (at around 0:59...
It hasn’t tested at all, to the best of my knowledge.
I’d be surprised if it opens much before July with the way things are going. It looks like they’ve still got quite a bit to build in terms of the theming and such, and they will have to test it for a good bit.
They haven’t even properly...
As @MLDesigns said, there are no trims actually installed in those brackets before the outer bank. These will only be installed if the ride overspeeds during testing, so the brackets are mainly there as a precaution in case trims are needed.
Bits of that definitely looked slow, but as others have said, it was the first test run and the chain lift ran at an absolute crawl. It’s probably not the warmest, clearest day either; if it’s windy or cold, which wouldn’t be a surprise given yesterday’s weather, that could easily have affected...
It depends on if it exceeds Mack’s wind speed limit requirement for it to operate, doesn’t it? I assume that they’d go by the same limit when testing as they would when operating, wouldn’t they?
Interesting! I wasn’t expecting such a whitewash in favour of Europa Park, as while I thought they had a fantastic selection, with one of the strongest top 3s of any theme park I’ve visited, I was under the impression that that was more down to my own taste, and that people generally thought of...
I think it probably will be; the new Universal Studios parks are growing to be a bit more like this.
I haven’t been to either, but from what I’ve seen and heard, the likes of Universal Studios Singapore and Universal Studios Beijing look far less inherently “studio” themed than the likes of...
Hi guys. Two European parks that have been quite heavily visited among CoasterForce's members are Alton Towers in the UK and Europa Park in Germany. The two parks are very different parks in many ways, but one way in which they are similar is that they both have pretty extensive roller coaster...
I think Wicker Man has a pretty good queue, to be fair. I also thought that the recent one for Nemesis Reborn was quite good as well.
They do seem to have developed a bit of a penchant for cattle pens and 7ft fences, though… the rest of the queue might be better, but the cage bits under the...
The presentation is an interesting one.
I agree with some of the criticisms. I’m not a fan of what we’ve seen of the queue so far, and while I understand why they’ve done it (H&S probably wouldn’t have allowed for low enough fencing for it to be worthwhile), it is disappointing that we won’t be...
Here’s some photos of a dummy-filled train being reversed into the station courtesy of Thorpe Park Mania:

Testing must be close now!
From what I can see, it doesn't immediately look as though the stall turn has been reprofiled. To compare, here are off-ride shots of Nemesis Reborn and Nemesis V1 from roughly the same angle:
However, I definitely get what people mean from having watched the POVs together. The stall turn...
@Hyde @Hixee @Pokemaniac Is this another bot? The favourite park and coaster categories are listed as “USA”, and their first post, in a non coaster or park related thread, looks to me as though it might be building to a link being embedded in future…
Does this look like a bot to you, or am I...
People who’ve ridden say that they are surprisingly intense; I even heard one rider talk about “mini grey out moments”, particularly during the backwards lap!
In case anyone wasn’t aware, it would appear that Oakwood no longer opens midweek outside of peak periods (e.g. half terms, school trip season, summer holidays): https://www.oakwoodthemepark.co.uk/about-the-park/opening-times/
I’m not sure how much of a new development this is, but I just...
For what it’s worth, I’m hearing word that the transfer track has begun testing, which could possibly hint towards trains being put on the track before too long…
On the public transport discussion, there is also one piece of the puzzle that I feel would make public transport a far more feasible option for a greater amount of the country. That is if Universal were to provide some sort of connection from Milton Keynes Central train station, which is...
