“Warming up throughout the day” - a myth?

This is all to do with the oil in the wheel bearings. The very nature of how a bearing works, means that is has to have oil in the wheel assembly otherwise it will fail. Depending on the oil used and the range of temperature that particular lubricant works in, will effect the performance when...

Wild Mouse at BPB Closure - R.I.P. 1958-2017

I loved the mouse (and still do). I didn't like the way they handled its removal at all and for me I visited just once last year, even as season pass holder. I wasn't actively boycotting the park, but had just lost my enthusiasm for the place so didn't see the point in going somewhere just for...

    Millennium Force vs Steel Vengeance

As you very well know in thinking how good Steel Vengeance is :p In all seriousness, I just had less pain and more fun on Maverick than I did Steel Vengeance. SV is a great coaster, but when it gets to the point where the poorly designed restraints coupled with the insane amounts of Airtime...

    Millennium Force vs Steel Vengeance

If it was between Maverick and Steel Vengeance then I would probably have voted differently, but against Millennium Force, its SV. Although saying that, over two days I had more rides on Millennium and probably enjoyed it more.... For me, SV is good, but its not the best coaster at Cedar Point. :)

    Rank the RMCs

I do find it interesting that some RMC's are rated highly for some and for others the same rides are down at the bottom of their list. I wonder if there is some correlation between riders dimensions and how high / low they rank? I am 6ft 3in tall and just under 17stone and I found the ejector...

    Top 3 coaster experiences?

    1. Night time rides on The Beast - Going through the wooded areas in total darkness and seeing a magical display of fire flies in the trees and on the ground. Was absolutely amazing to see and even more so travelling at speed through it. 2. First time on X2 - Nothing prepared me for for rides...

    Rank the RMCs

Completely agree, three of those RMC's I have ridden are just way too painful, whilst the others don't give me pain at all :) (Steel Vengeance, Stormchaser and Twisted Timbers). Maybe its because those 3 rides have periods of heavy sustained ejector, whereas the others I have ridden have other...

    Rank the RMCs

Was just way too painful to enjoy. The final bunny hills were an endurance test. Looking at the initial POV's which came out, the ride was crawling around the last sections, but its flying at the moment and its making the ride painful (for me anyway).

Alton Towers | Wicker Man | GCI Wood

Of course you are entitled to your own opinion and I am really pleased that you like the ride and rate it highly. With regards to the airtime, it does have a few moments of floater, but in my opinion no ejector. Now, I may have ridden it on a bad day or when it wasn't quite warmed up, but at...

Alton Towers | Wicker Man | GCI Wood

Well here is my two-penneth on the Wicker Basket. Its a solid family woodie which has some good theming and the overall experience has been well thought out and (in parts) executed well. The issues that it has been having are puzzling, its essentially just another GCI woodie and you would have...

Alton Towers | Wicker Man | GCI Wood

My sentiments exactly. After all these years of waiting for a wood coaster at Alton, this is what we get. Its saying something when the Log Flume looked to have a longer drop than this :)

Go Ape for Chessington WoA, summer 2016

Its going to be well outside the park. Its in the woods in the South (grass) car park. So well away from the existing hotels. No idea how hotel guests are going to get to it. Probably have to drive to the new 45 space car park next to the Go Ape. Its also quite a walk from the South...

    Alton Towers ride closures

However, did Six Flags Over Texas close for 5 days (or however many it was) like Alton did or did the Six Flags chain close coasters across the country. From a media and public perspective, the above closures could indicate to someone that there was a problem, hence why they latched onto it and...
