What is going on with Thorpe park?

That's a hell of a post @JoshC. And some interesting insight. I spent far too much time there in my teens in the 00's armed with an £80 Tussauds pass, but rarely visit these days. I still don't think it's a bad park but Merlin have tightened the purse strings so much it just doesn't offer a...

Could we ever see real coaster enthusiast shorts?

My kinda thread. A few days before my USA trip last year I ventured into Mountain Warehouse and stumbled across a life changing purchase - theme park shorts. - Zip pockets on the upper thighs, no need for locker faff - Stretch waist for when you've eaten too many donuts - Quick dry material...

Your year in review - 2020 edition

@Howie Arthur is indeed great. Kinda feels like a less intense version of Forbidden Journey. Would love to see a Disney take on that ride system and I'm surprised there aren't more of them about.

Walibi Belgium | Unknown | Intamin Mega Coaster | 2021

2nd pic down, bang in the middle, at the bottom. That little hill looks like it will provide a lovely wallop of ejector.

    Rank the RMC inversions

Weirdly there's not many that spring to mind tbh. RMC coasters are so good as an overall package I guess it's easy to take the inversions for granted if that makes sense. Steel Vengeance for example gives you such a battering it's hard to take it all in and break it down. The one that does...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Would love to see a Lech Coaster clone at Intu Watford tbh.

Will any other types of launches be invented in the future?

Could get the Rats involved too tbf. There are a lot more than 57 million of them.

The next major project to be announced/discovered ?

I'm gonna make a ballsy prediction: a thrill coaster for Efteling. Yes the family park with pain in the arse neighbours and strict planning restrictions. Parc Asterix and Walibi Belgium are adding what appear to be coasters in the world class category. Plus Taron and Untamed have popped up in...

    Top 10(ish): 2020 Edition - page 96

Go on then... 1. Steel Vengeance 2. Skyrush 3. Untamed 4. Hyperion 5. Zadra 6. Taron 7. Magnum XL200 8. Mako 9. Phoenix 10. Maverick Taron has dropped down a few places after some disappointing rides a couple of weeks ago. Felt a lot more tame than usual perhaps caused by the noticeable...

Will any other types of launches be invented in the future?

This. Wonder how many hamsters running on a massive wheel would be needed to launch Kingda Ka?

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

My review here ...https://coasterforce.com/forums/threads/last-cred-review.42950/post-1097120 As for the themeing debate, it's obviously world class and on par with Klugheim. I must say though after venturing into the seemingly forgotten area of Deep In Africa; Black Mamba is the best themed...

    Last Cred Review

F.L.Y - Phantasialand Very, very impressive as an overall package. Went in completely blind having avoided all reviews and spoilers, it did not disappoint. Vekoma have completely nailed it with this ride system and I'm sure we will be seeing a lot more of these pop up in the next few years...

    Your worst spite

Was absolutely gutted at first but it's actually really nice here tbf. Better than being at work I guess. Sky Scream is superb but feels like more of a flat ride than coaster. Asked the bloke at the park entrance and he said he's not allowed to tell me but he was very apologetic. Can't see any...

Top Thrill Dragster. Was gutted. Steel Vengeance though

    WTF Merlin?

Another reason I'd assume MAP tickets will be limited is because of The Sun Savers tickets. They're completely free tickets, I've booked them in for Towers and Thorpe for the coming weeks. Not ideal for gate revenue with the limited capacity.

What is the Best Log Flume?

The very best log flumes are the traditional style ones where you literally sit in a log and go through a flume ride. Meandering through the woods not doing a lot, leading up to a big drop with a guaranteed soaking 👍 Loggers Leap was my all time favourite.
